I am really into my skincare, ever since having seriously awful skin when I was pregnant (read about this here), I have tested and tried loads of products, always in search of the best things for my skin. I tend to blog about my favourite products of the month and review products that really work for me, but what I thought I would do is a more regular skincare post to tell you what I have been loving recently. I often try samples that I love and want to rave about, but also I want to tell you about my staple products that I really do love and cannot be without. This is therefore the first in my series of the aptly named ‘My Skin Hearts’.
Firstly, I have really been enjoying Balance Me Moisture-Rich Face Cream which I received on the cover of Glamour magazine last month. It is aimed at normal-dry/sensitive skin, however I have more combination-oily skin which is a little sensitive and dehydrated and have found it such a great product to use. Although aimed at dryer skins, I don’t find it to be greasy in the slightest and it absorbs easily into the skin, making it a great canvas for make-up. It moisturises and hydrates really well, leaving the skin soft and nourished. As with all Balance Me products, they are great for those who have sensitive or reactive skin as do not contain any parabens, mineral oil, petroleum or silicones. Such a great brand and have just heard they will be launching in Debenhams and will be online there from 19th August!
Next up is one of my holy grail products, I seriously cannot rate this highly enough. Alpha-H Liquid Gold has seriously improved my skin since I started using it over a year ago. This glycolic acid treatment resurfaces the skin helping to reduce pores, refine lines and sun damage as well as brightening and firming the skin. Used neat on a cotton pad and applied to cleansed skin 2-3 nights a week it really is a miracle worker. If you have problematic skin that is in need of a total rejuventaion, please give it a try, you will not regret it. Make sure you use an SPF though the next day as you skin is more susceptible to the damaging effects of UV rays as it is being resurfaced.
Finally, a product that I haven’t been using on my face particularly, but on dry skin patches on my body . The Yu-Be Moisturising Skin Cream (sample) is a concentrated glycerin moisturiser which helps to hydrate the upper layer of the skin. It soothes and smooths rough, dry skin and it is a fantastic multi-tasker for those problem areas such as dry elbows and cuticles, chapped hand and lips as well as on the face (although I haven’t tried this myself). I recently had a blister on my finger, leaving a sore red mark which went very flakey. This cream soothed the area straight away, helping it to heal quickly. I also get occasional patches of eczema on have use this to moisturise and soothe the skin without any sensitivity at all. It is a Japanese Brand, but you can buy this online at Bath & Unwind where a 35g tube will cost you £12. A great find and a good handbag essential!
