Having always wanted thicker, longer hair, I jumped at the chance to try the Double Volume Straight Instant Weave* from Wonderland Wigs. I have never used a hair piece before, so was a bit apprehensive as to how it would look and feel but was really keen to give it a go. The colour I selected was Boho Blonde (613/27) which was a great match to my hair colour and blended in really well. It is a synthetic piece, but as you can see from the photos, looks incredibly real!
Even though this is a straight hair piece, it has long layers in it and is slightly wavy at the ends. I personally loved this as I am always trying to achieve the casually wavy look, but am generally quite rubbish at styling hair, so with this, you literally just clip it in and all the hard work is done for you!
To apply the hairpiece I firstly clipped the top section of hair up and then gentle back combed to remaining section at the roots. I found adding a little Tresemme Backcombing Dust helped to give it some grip. I then tied my hair into a small bun at the bottom of my head (as shown in the photo below). It is worth noting that I did actually take down the sides of my hair in front of my ear out of the pony as this was perhaps a little too much tied back!
The top comb goes in the back combed section at the top of your head and then bringing the rest of the hairpiece over the bun, you then push the bottom comb in at the hair at the nape of your neck (I added a little Backcomb dust here too!). There is a little cord which you can pull to secure it in place too. You can then style you hair as usual.

As you can see, this looks great and surprisingly natural and it feels so nice to have lots of hair! I would perhaps save this for special occasions or a night out though as for me it is a bit overkill on a daily basis. I would like to have a bit more practice trying out different styles too, but I think for a hair piece virgin, I haven’t done too bad!
The price of this hair piece is £39.99 and is available from Wonderland Wigs, who stock an amazing range of hairpieces and wigs for all occasions!
Here are a few more pictures of when the hairpiece first arrived and I just couldn’t wait to try it out!
