Clarins Lotus Face Treatment Oil

I really look forward to treating my face with an oil, I find it one of the most luxurious parts of my skincare routine and love the ritual of massaging it into the skin and leaving it to do its magic! My latest treat has been Clarins Lotus Face Treatment Oil* (£32) which is suited best to oily or combinations skin and aims to extract, purify, tighten pores and refine skin texture. It has worked wonders and has well and truely become a favourite in my night-time skincare routine, its is heavenly!

Firstly, the smell is incredible, it really just smells like being in a spa and the blend of Rosewood, Geranium and Lotus extracts, instantly makes me relax the second I apply it to my skin. After cleansing and toning with the Clarins Gentle Exfoliator Brightening Toner*, followed by a spritz of a hydrating toner such as the Caudalie Grape Water, I simply add a few drops of the oil (using the handy pipette) to the palm of my hands and massage it into my face with my fingertips. It is quite a lightweight oil but does feels a little thicker in consistancy than other face oils I have used in the past (namely Pai Rosehip Oil and Balance Me Radiance Oil). That said, it doesn’t feel sticky on the skin and absorbs really well. I tend to apply this earlier in the evening and then follow with a moisturiser just before bed.

In the morning my skin feels soothed and balanced. Any blemishes are either reduced and calmed or brought to a head. I feel that this has definitely helped with congestion, and improved the clarity of my skin, whilst keeping the skin hydrated at the same time. For someone who suffers with dehydrated, blemish-prone skin, this is the ideal product to decongest my skin without drying it out. I use it every other night and find it the perfect treatment for my oily/combination skin. Clarins has really impressed me with their skincare recently, they seem to do no wrong!

Have you tried this? Do you use face oils as part of your skincare routine?
