Clarins Opalescence Collection | Spring 2014

New from Clarins this Spring is their Opalescence Collection, which chirped me up no end when the array of fresh and bright spring-time colours landed on my doorstep. Tired of the the warm, rich shades of winter, this collection instantly put a smile on my face and got me excited for Spring.

Starting with the face, the Limited Edition Face and Cheek Palette* (£30) is a beautiful powder that I have been using in place of my regular setting powder and blush, which gives the face a lovely radiance that is neither too heavy or too bright. It consists of a trio of complexion boosting shades which adds a certain je ne sais que and freshness to the face. It would be suitable for most skintones as it is not highly pigmented, and I for one simply adore it!

If you did want to add a little something extra to the cheek, the Multi-Blush Cream Blush (£18) is a lovely lightweight cream which has a matte, yet velvety texture to it. It is fairly sheer in pigment, but definitely buildable and leaves a lovely natural flush to the cheeks. I have the shades Grenadine*, a bright peachy pink and Rosewood*, a dusky pink and although Rosewood is a shade that I wouldn’t really wear much, Grenadine adds a lovely pop of colour to the cheeks. These would be great for popping in your handbag to top-up your blush during the day as no brushes are required!

For eyes there is the Limited Edition Eye Quartet Mineral Palette* (£31), which encorporates hues of pink, plum and grey and the addition of a pearly white shimmer to add highlight to the eye. These shadows apply and blend really nicely and really do have longevity, after a whole day at work, my shadow still looked fresh. Cooler in tone than my normal choice of shadows, the shades work well together and I love the plum shade which looks lovely in the outer corner of the eye as well as a liner under my bottom lashes.

Their lip offering comes in the form of Joli Rouge Brilliant Sheer Shine Lipstick (£18) which has such a  sheer yet vibrant payoff and some serious shine to boot. The shade Tropical Pink* is such a pretty pink shade for spring and Pink Orchid* offers a more subdued, yet fresh tone to the lips but of which add some much needed moisture to the lips too!

Finally, the icing on the cake is the Gloss Prodige (£17) which is available in two shades; Coral Tulip*, the most beautiful coral gloss, shot through with golden shimmer which unsurprisingly I love! Also available is Crystal* a completely transparent gloss which enhances any lip colour you wear underneath it, or equally can be worn alone for a more natural appearance. These are super glossy, yet non-sticky and are so smooth and comfortable on the lips. They also contain raspberry oil to nourish and prevent cracking, and also flavours the gloss making it taste delicious!

A gorgeous collection that has really got me excited for spring, do you like the look of any of these spring products?
