Chanel Rouge Allure Lipstick in 136 Mélodieuse

Now Spring has sprung, it’s time to get involved in a brighter lip. I’ve got to be honest, I always tend to stick to more nude tones, but there is something about the sunshine that makes me whip out something a bit brighter. Part of Chanel’s Spring collection, their Rouge Allure Lipstick in Mélodieuse is the perfect shade to liven up any complexion. It is a warm toned vibrant coral pink, which although not as sheer as their Rouge Coco Shine lipsticks (review here), still feels light and comfortable on the lips. The warm coral undertones compliment my complexion well, which is probably at its lightest at the moment, but I think will look even nicer with a bit of a summer tan. It is extremely smooth to apply, and the colour is buildable if you want a more intense look. I love that although it is quite a vibrant colour, it doesn’t feel heavy at all on the lips and doesn’t smudge or transfer on your teeth! I personally don’t really pay too much attention to the wear time, but I would say is that it doesn’t go patchy at all, just fades nicely by almost melting into the lips.

It goes without saying that the packaging is chic beyond belief. The lipstick is housed in a sleek black and gold case with the Chanel logo on the base, which you simply press down to pop out the lipstick! I would usually save something so pretty for special occasions, but I can’t get enough of this beautiful bullet. At £25, it is a pricey little number but the formulation is outstanding and in my opinion is definitely worth it if you want to treat yourself.

Have you tried any of Chanel’s lipsticks?
