The Perfect Summer Base | Jouer Matte Moisture Tint SPF 15

I realise that I am probably late to the party with this, but I have been loving the Jouer Matte Moisture Tint so much recently, it definitely was worthy of a dedicated post!

Firstly I would like to say, I am never one for light coverage bases and really do shy away from them as feel they don’t cover my blemishes and imperfections that well. That said, when I am in the sunshine I don’t like the feeling of a heavy foundation on my skin. So before my holiday in May, I went on the search to find the perfect summer base, one that felt light on the skin but also gave good coverage.

After reading many reviews on tinted moisturisers, BB creams and the like, I settled on the Jouer Matte Moisture Tint which has a SPF 15 as well as being oil free. Personally, I have to be careful with SPFs in face products as react badly to chemical SPFs, however the active ingredients in this are Titanium Dioxide and Zinc Oxide (physical sunscreens), so I knew I wouldn’t have any bad reactions.

I settled on the shade Chamomile which is perfect for me at the moment with a tan. For reference, other shades I use with a tan are Nars Sheer Glow in Barcelona and Laura Mercier Silk Cream Foundation in Cashew Beige. It has a slightly thicker texture to previous tinted moisturisers have used, and have found the best way to apply it is with my fingers, it blends in easily and is completely fuss-free!

It feels so smooth on the skin with an almost velvet feel to it, and gives a beautiful matte finish to the skin. This makes it perfect for combination skin gals like me, as it completely hides the shine, yet manages to look radient without leaving the skin looking flat, I LOVE it! It completely evens out my skintone, obviously I still use a concealer on blemishes and dark circles, but it gives such amazing coverage for such a lightweight product. The lasting power is great too, it doesn’t slip and slide like heavier foundations can often do in warmer climates, so less touch-ups which definitely has the thumbs up from me!

As you can tell, I am completely smitten and this product is all that I have used since arriving in hot and humid New York a week ago, it is the perfect summer base!

I bought mine from Cult Beauty (£29) in the UK, but it is also available from Nordstrom ($38) in the US.
