July (& June) Favourites

Firstly I would like to apologise for not posting my June Favourites, the past two months have been extremely hectic and actually life changing for me and I literally did not have the time to write many posts. As regular readers of A Little Pop of Coral will know, I moved to New York towards the end of June which has been incredible so far and a real change of life. There have been ups and downs and lots to sort and organise, but we are starting to settle now and things are becoming a bit more like home now. I shall fill you in a bit more another time, but for now here are the products I have been loving throughout June and July.

Since living here, it has been so hot literally everyday, so I make sure I wear my sunscreen all the time. I have been loving the Neutrogena range of spray sunscreens. They are all amazing products, but the one I am currently loving is the Neutrogena Fresh Cooling Sunscreen SPF 45. It instantly cools down the skin as you apply it, which is a bonus in the hot, sticky weather we have here at the moment. It is completely clear and sprays out a fine mist which is not-sticky or greasy in the slightest and absorbs immediately. Perfect for when you are rushing out of the door and need to protect your skin, a quick spritz of this rubbed into the skin is even fuss-fee enough for the laziest of people!

The It’s a 10 Miracle Leave-In plus Keratin is all I have really been using on my hair recently. It manages to do a whole heap of good things for your hair including protect against heat, detangle, defrizz, strengthen, add shine, seal hair cuticle, replace lost protein etc. I have been spritzing it through my hair before blow drying and my hair has been reaping the benefits. My somewhat fine hair feels a lot thicker and stronger and I love that it is an all-in-one product that takes care of everything as I am super lazy when it comes to my hair!

I bought the Make Up Forever Full Cover Concealer in one of my Sephora hauls recently and it is all I have been using to cover imperfections on my face. It is full coverage so does a great job of hiding blemishes and marks but is also easily blendable and doesn’t go cakey or look too heavy. It also stays put all day, even in hot humid weather! Full review coming soon.

I have written a full post on the Revlon ColorStay Moisture Stains here, and the one I have been wearing the most is Miami Fever, a bright orange-toned red which compliments my skintone and adds a vibrant pop of colour to the face. I love how moisturising they feel on the lips whilst still imparting a stain once it has worn away. They should be arriving in the UK any day now too!

Breaking news here…I think I have found THE ONE! I am talking liquid liners here and think that the Kat Von D Tattoo Liner is it. It has a brush-style nib instead of a felt tip which really makes all the difference with application, creating perfect feline flicks time and time again. It is so simple to use and doesn’t dry out like a felt-tip liner does! The only negative is that it does fade a little by the end of the day, but I’m all for topping up a little for the sake of having fuss-free flicks. A million times easier to use than the Benefit Push-Up Liner which I really didn’t get along with!

A rather extravagant purchase last month was the Charlotte Tilbury Filmstar Bronze & Glow. I have been lusting after it ever since her make-up line launched last year. It’s a pricey little number but worth every penny for the killer cheekbones it creates and making you feel so glamourous when using it. It is definitely the most beautiful piece of make-up I own, I have reviewed it in full here

Finally, but no means least is the Lipstick Queen Endless Summer Lipstick in Aloha, which I refer to as my perfect summer red. The sheer formula glides on beautifully, imparts a vibrant but not intense colour to the lips and protects them too as it contains SPF15. It doesn’t feel heavy in any way and is the only red I can apply without the aid of a mirror. You can read my rave review here.
