Maybelline The Nudes

One of the most exciting launches this Summer has got to be the drugstore’s answer to The Naked Palette, a.k.a. Maybelline The Nudes Palette. It comprises of twelve neutral shades, both matte and shimmer that come neatly presented in a black slimline case. The colour selection is great, there are some pale cream/ivory shades, taupes, mid-dark browns, gold and chocolate shades and even a matte black, all of which are extremely wearable and would suit anyone.

The real question is how, do they apply? I have to say my views are mixed! The pale shades are quite chalky and are not very apparant on the lids at all, so I am not very impressed by these. However, as the shades get darker, the better they get! The mid-tone and darker shades are much more pigmented, and, although they are not as soft or buttery as the likes of Urban Decay and Mac, they do have great colour pay off and blend well. Worn on top of an eye primer, they lasted for most of the day, albeit with a little creasing.

For $9.99 (approx £5.80) you cant really complain. Although I am not crazy about the lighter shades, there are more darker shadows in the palette, so worth picking up if you are after an affordable palette. It is worth noting that this is so slim and compact that it would be perfect for travel too.

Available now in the US here and will be launching later this month in the UK.

Will you be picking this up?
