I have been playing with a few new fragrances recently, sometimes you get stuck in a rut wearing the same couple of perfumes, so it has been a refreshing change to experiment with some different scents.
First up is a fragrance by the lady behind the By Terry brand, Terry de Gunzburg RĂªve Opulent Eau de Parfum.* I would describe it as sophisticatedly fresh and floral and has notes of jasmine, rose and orange blossom and ylang ylang. It is definitely more of a daytime fragrance and whilst it is a little sweet for my tastes, I can see it being popular as it is very feminine yet contemporary at the same time.
One that I have been enjoying a little more is Giorgio Armani Si Eau De Parfum*. This combines fruity, floral and musky scents all in one fragrance, which sounds like it may put people off, so let me explain. It contains the fruitiness from cassis, a full-bodied dark fruit so is not overly sweet. This combined with the floral notes of freesia and rose makes it feminine, and the addition of patchouli and vanilla create a lovely warmth that balances the fragrance. I have really enjoyed wearing this one and think it would be suitable worn both day and night.
Leaving the best until last, the Versace Crystal Noir Eau De Parfum* is my favourite of the bunch. As the name suggests, it is more suited to evening wear and is very sensual and sophisticated. It has notes of gardenia and amber which makes it quite exotic but has a softness that makes it very feminine and easy to wear. Just beautiful!
All these fragrances can be found at House of Fraser.
