I have recently been enjoying a new toner in my skincare routine, the Boscia Balancing Facial Tonic which has replaced my favourite Liz Earle Skin Tonic as it is unavailable in the US. I typically use this after cleansing in the morning and as a second stage toner in the evening after an exfoliating toner such as Pixi Glow Tonic or Clarins Gentle Exfoliator Brightening Toner.
It is a refreshing facial mist containing lavender water to calm and soothe the skin, eliminating impurities and refining the appearance of pores. The lavender water is also meant to rebalance the PH level of the skin, which will maximise absorption of products you follow this with, i.e. serum, face oil or moisturiser. It also contains serine (an amino acid) and this helps to relieve dryness leaving the skin soft and hydrated. Rosemary leaf extract helps to firm the skin, jojoba prevents free radical damage , whilst willowherb calms inflammation and reduces redness and irritation.
I have been using this for about a month now and have been really enjoying its benefits. I love the spray on the bottle, it distributes a good amount of product in a fine mist that covers your face in about two spritzes and your face doesn’t feel as though it it is dripping wet. It has a lovely scent to it, the lavender is very subtle and does not over power the product and just feels lovely and soothing on the skin.
Having combination to oily, dehydrated skin, I love the way it manages to purify my skin, whilst keeping it hydrated at the same time. This is a big plus for me as too often than not products can be too stripping leaving my skin unbalanced and dehydrated. Whilst I do still have large pores (I don’t really think much can change that!), the appearance of them does look better, and my skin tone looks more even. It is very calming and definitely reduces any redness in my skin too.
If you are after a new toner or hydrating facial mist, then this is definitely one to add to your Sephora shopping basket. A 150ml bottle of this will set you back $24.
