Last night I spent the evening with Charlotte Tilbury at the launch of her make-up range at Bergdorf Goodman, Fifth Avenue, NYC. Excited was an understatement, as coming from the UK, I already have a small collection of her wonderful products and have experienced her counter at Selfridges, London. I arrived fashionably late, which allowed me to see Charlotte and her gorgeous models getting photographed outside her window displays which had all been created by David Hoey and were fabulous! Of course my SLR decided that it wasn’t ging to work at this perfect picture opportunity, so my trusty iphone had to take over to capture the moment!
As I stepped inside to Bergdorf’s, the atmosphere was just crazy, so many people were there to celebrate Charlotte’s launch, I had never seen anything like it! Everyone seemed genuinely excited to be there, to see the products in the flesh and of course to meet Charlotte. After a glass (or two!) of champagne, and some product testing, I met the lady herself. It was like a dream come true, as I have followed her work for so long and am totally obsessed with her products. She was the nicest lady ever and was excited that I was a beauty blogger from the UK and now lived here. She was so complimentary and said I had the most gorgeous green eyes and recommended the Dolce Vita look to me which is actually my favourite and already have the eyeshadow palette which I adore. She also recommended her famous Magic Cream and Wonderglow to me, which have actually been on my wishlist for a while, so now I really have to try them!
After another peruse of her products, I decided to leave which was bad timing as I saw that Naomi Campbell and Olivia Palermo turned up who I would have loved to have seen. However, for me, Charlotte was the star of the show and I am so happy that I got to meet her and I am excited that I can now buy my favourite products here in NYC too. Congratulations!
