I am the first to admit I have neglected my poor feet over the past few months, treating my feet wasn’t really top of my agenda on after moving my life across the Atlantic! The soles of my feet were in a sorry state, months of wearing flip flops and sandals completely dried them up and I experienced cracked heels and hard skin build up. I needed to sort them quick sharp, and when I heard Gemma talking about these foot masks on Twitter, I knew I needed to try them out!
The Botanical Choice Exfoliating Foot Mask is a set of two plastic sock-type masks where the inside of the socks are filled with an exfoliating treatment made from papaya, lemon, apple, orange and other natural botanical extracts. You simply clean your feet, pop these on for 60 to 90 minutes and then rinse off. They do feel a bit strange and squelchy when you have them on, and are quite cooling but they do not sting at all. It is worth pointing out that I have large feet (Size 8 UK/10 US), so I would say these would be suitable for all sizes!
After about five days I saw the texture in my feet change as if they were about to shed, and sure enough after seven days all the skin on my feet was literally peeling off bit by bit. If you are foot squeamish then these might not be the product for you, but I found it extremely satisfying watching all my skin peel off. It says not to pick calluses but on day eight my feet were very ‘peely’ so I did use a pumice scrub and foot file in the shower to remove the dead skin.
The skin on my feet has been left baby soft and so smooth and even though it is Autumn now and I have socks on most of the time, I feel like I can now go for a pedicure without feeling ashamed! The best part about this treatment is that it is only $5.79 or $11.29 for three and are available from Amazon. I shall definitely be repurchasing these, especially when sandal weather arrives again!
Have you ever tried anything like this?
Sorry I didn’t post any photos of it in action, I just though it was a bit TMI!
P.S. I am running a US drugstore giveaway over on my Facebook, so head over there to be in with the chance to win this weeks prize! Ends 31st October 2014.
