I am a huge Jo Malone fan, her fragrances are like nothing else! I have worn Nectarine Blossom & Honey for a while now (post here and here and review of the body cream here), which is my ultimate favourite, but I could quite happily wear any one of them! Imagine how happy I was when my husband came back late from work one night clutching not one, but two Jo Malone bags, I almost died and went to heaven! He had been to a ‘do’ which was actually in the Jo Malone store on Bleecker Street. In one of the bags was this absolutely adorable leather case* containing two 9ml bottles of cologne in Peony & Blush Suede and Blackberry & Bay. I had a mini sample of Peony & Blush Suede a while back, so I knew I really liked this and was excited to try Blackberry & Bay as I know that it is Tanya Burr’s favourite, and if I remember rightly, I think Lily Pebbles is a fan too. I was intrigued to smell what fellow beauty bloggers liked in a fragrance!
Peony & Blush as described by Jo Malone:
“The essence of charm. Peonie in voluptuous bloom, exquisitely fragile. Flirtation with the juicy bite of red apple and the opulence of jasmine, rose and gillyflower. Mingling with the sensuality of soft blush suede. Luxurious and seductive.”
I love this fragrance, it is light and floral which makes it femine and girly, but the suede in it, gives it an edge which makes it more sensuous and musky. The full-sized bottle is calling my name!
Blackberry & Bay as described by Jo Malone:
” Childhood memories of blackberry picking…A burst of deep, tart blackberry juice, blending with the freshness of just-gatherd bay and brambly woods. Vibrant and verdant.“
This scent is perfect for the Autumn, fruity yet earthy, I feel very comforted by this fragrance, there is just something about it that makes me feel very warm inside.
Of course all of Jo Malone fragrances can be layered together to create warmer or fresher smelling fragrance, so I have been creating some new scents with these two and Nectarine Blossom & Honey. I am actually in fragrance wonderland at the moment, and as I type, all I can smell are the wonderful notes of these three fragrances combined!
This size bottle is unfortunately not available to buy individually, however both fragrance are included in the Jo Malone Cologne Collection which is out for Christmas. I actually reviewed this from last year, which you can read about here. They would make the perfect gift for a female friend/relative or even for yourself. I would be absolutely delighted with anything from Jo Malone!
All Jo Malone colognes are available in handy travel sized 30ml bottles or dressing table elegant 100ml bottles. Available from Nordstrom & Bloomingdales in the US and House of Fraser & Selfridges in the UK, as well as Jo Malon boutiques.
*Although this was a gift, it was not a PR sample sent for review. I just love Jo Malone!
