Hydration is something my skin craves, if it is not kept hydrated then all manner of problems start occurring…blemishes, redness, flakiness, all of which I really don’t need in my life! With combination to oily skin, I often find it hard to find a decent moisturiser that is lightweight, that hydrates my skin well, without irritating my somewhat sensitive skin, but I have recently found a product that I am a little bit in love with!
The Ole Henriksen Truth Crème Advanced Hydration is the most glorious moisturiser I have tried in a while and I have skincare goddess herself, Caroline Hirons, to thank for this, as it was a recommendation of hers in a recent video she did with Pixiwoo. I have been using this twice a day for over a month now and I am loving the results, my skin feels smooth, calm and hydrated. If I am dehydrated, the tale tell signs for me is redness on my nose, followed by flakiness if it gets really bad. The Truth Crème has kept those symptoms at bay, leaving my skin hydrated and balanced. Even though it comes packaged in a jar, it is a very lightweight cream that just glides onto the skin and is absorbed instantly. There is no residue or sticky feeling, it just leaves your skin feeling soft and smooth.
It contains vitamin C, which I believe is a great inclusion in skin products as it boosts collagen, which is responsible for keeping the skin strong, firm and in good repair. Because Vitamin C is a antioxidant, it slows down the rate of free-radical damage, preventing fine lines and wrinkles. (Check this post I wrote about Vitamin C here). I have noticed a more even skin tone and smoother appearance too since using this and I know it is going to be an essential for the cold months of winter.
I have heard complaints about the smell of this product, which is sort of orangy without the zing to it, a sort of muted orange if that is such a thing! I actually don’t really mind the smell and find it quite soothing and to be quite honest, if it does a great job at hydrating my skin then the smell is something that doesn’t really concern me.
If you have dehydrated (whatever the skin type) or dry skin, then I would whole heartedly recommend this, I think it is a great product to treat your skin winter!
It comes in a 50ml/1.7 fl oz pot and is available from Sephora ($45) and Feel Unique (£47)
