My love for the Maybelline Color Tattoo has been widely documented in this blog, here and here. I love the easy to apply creamy texture that stays put for hours and the shade On and On Bronze is the just most perfect shimmery neutral that can be blended all over the lid for a fuss-free look. More recently though, I have been loving wearing more matte shadows on my lids, there is something quite sophisticated about a matte eye, so I was delighted to see that Maybelline has released the Color Tattoo Leather, which is the same great creamy formula we know and love but the finish is matte.
I have the shade Creamy Beige, which is one of five shades avaialbe in the collection and looks like a rather uninteresting taupe colour. It is by no means the most exciting shade of eyeshadow I own, but I am sure neutral lovers will agree that some days all you want is a little something on the eyes without looking like you have made too much of an effort. If that is you, then this is the product for you as it is a great everyday shade that is quick and easy to blend across the lid, add a touch of black liner and mascara and you are good to go. Alternatively, because it is so longwearing stays crease free and is of course matte, it creates a great neutral base on which to apply other shadows. This is a great addition to my Autumn make-up bag and a much more affordable alternative to Mac Paintpots which are renowned for their use as a great base shadow.
