14 Top Beauty Favourites from 2014

14 Top Beauty Favourites from 2014

OK, lets do this! I’ve had a little break over the festive season so apologies for this post being a little late. I was originally going to split my favorites into categories, but it was seriously going to be about four posts long, so I decided to do my top 14 favorites to help me narrow it down a bit. All of these products are the ones I have used the most this year, a sure fire sign that they have definitely been my favourites of the year!

Beauty Favourites 2014 - The Body Shop Chamomile Silky Cleansing Oil, Glamglow Youth Mud, Boscia Balancing Facial Tonic

Lets start with skincare, the Body Shop Camomile Silky Cleansing Oil has revolutionized my skincare routine this year and this is now my third bottle! This beautiful cleansing oil removes every scrap of make-up in one step, without the need for a separate eye make-up remover. It is so gentle ad leaves my skin soft and fresh ready for my second cleanse. I would also like to make a shout-out to the Oskia Renaissance Cleanser which is without question a favorite of 2014 which I cannot be without, but there just was not room for I two cleansers in this post!

Following cleansing, I like to balance my skin with the Boscia Balancing Facial Tonic, which I spray all over before I go in with moisturizer or treatments. I wrote a post on my favorite hydrating facial sprays, but this is the one that I have loved the most. It has a great mist to it and manages to calm, soothe, hydrate and balance my skin in one spritz. I have a full review here.

When my skin is seriously suffering, I have loved using the Glamglow Youthmud Tinglexfoliate Treatment. This thick clay mask with exfoliating particles does an amazing job at purifying my skin, whilst reducing blemishes and redness. It tingles on application but I love that I can feel this really getting to work. With this I get instant results, so is great for emergencies too when your skin is not looking its best. Great discovery! I have reviewed all the Glamglow masks here.

14 Top Beauty Favourites of 2014 - Charlotte Tilbury Lip Cheat in Pillow Talk, Nuxe Reve de Miel Lip BAlm, NYX Butter Gloss

There have been so many lip products I have loved this year, so I found it tough to narrow it down but I have three products here that I have been reaching for the most. The Nuxe Reve de Miel is hands down the best lip balm ever! I seriously love this and have gone on about it so much, but there is just no competition. I slather this thick balm on each night and wake up with baby soft lips. It is that good that I hardly need to use it throughout the day! If you do not own this, you are seriously missing out!

The Charlotte Tilbury Lip Cheat in Pillow Talk is just an amazing lip pencil. It’s creamy formulation makes it a dream to apply and the shade mimics your natural lip color leaving you with a defined, yet natural pout. It compliments most of my lipsticks too being a lover of the nude lip, so a definite staple in my make-up bag.

My favorite lip gloss has to be the NYX Butter Gloss, which is the most affordable lip gloss I own and is honestly the best. It has the creamiest smoothest texture to it which stays put for hours and there are so many shades available that there is one to match every occasion. My absolute favorite is Creme Brûlée, although I could not find it for this picture (probably hiding in one of my handbags somewhere!), which is the most perfect nude beige that looks great alone, on top of lipstick or simply with the Charlotte Tilbury Pillow Talk. I have a full review here with various shades and swatches.
14 Top Beauty Favourites from 2014 - Body Shop Coconut Body Butter, Oribe Dry Texturising Spray, Jo Malone Nectarine Blossom & Honey Cologne
I think The Body Shop Body Butter will be my forever favorite body moisturizer. It is just the best and I don’t think I will ever be without it. I have branched out and tried a few different scents this year,  but the Coconut is my preferred scent, especially in the summer months. It just does the best job at softening my skin, even elbows and knees that can often be hard to treat, this does the job. I have a full post about them here.

My most worn scent is definitely the Jo Malone Nectarine Blossom & Honey Cologne. It is so uplifting and combines the fruity notes of peach, nectarine and cassis with a sweetness of honey. I love it, and think it has pretty much become my signature scent.

Of all the hair products I have tried, the Oribe Dry Texturising Spray has definitely been the best. This brings my fine, flat hair to life by adding natural lift and hold to your style. As I have said before, it is like magic in a can! See my full review here.

14 Top Beauty Favourites from 2014 - Mac Blush in Ocean City, Charlotte Tilbury Filmstar Bronze & Glow, Nars Creamy Radiant Concealer, Charlotte Tilbury Dolce Vita Eyeshadow Palatte

The blush that graced my cheeks for the majority of the year was the Mac Proenza Schouler Blush in Ocean City. Such amazing packaging with a vibrant coral blush inside that really gives a gorgeous pop of color to the face, giving you an amazing summer-like glow. The only downside is that it was limited edition so I don’t know what I will do when it runs out? Fingers crossed they re-release it!

I had two contenders for best concealer (the other being Make Up Forever Full Cover), but the Nars Radiant Creamy Concealer won because it can be used both as an under-eye concealer, as well as on blemishes and redness. I mainly use it under my eyes as it disguises my dark cycles incredibly well without creasing and makes me looks as though I have had my full 8 hours! Full review here.

The Kat Von D Tattoo Liner (which it appears I left out of this photo – see top pic!), is the best black liquid liner. ever. It is blacker than black, does not fade, flake or smear and it has tiny bristles instead of a felt tip so it doesn’t dry out. I don’t know what it is about this, but my winged liner has never looked better and I have this to thank for it. I have just repurchase my third tube – see my full review here.

My final two products come from Charlotte Tilbury, by far the best make-up brand this year in my opinion. The first is the Filmstar Bronze & Glow which has allowed me to sculpt killer cheekbones in a matter of seconds and is just the most beautiful product I own. I have used this pretty much everyday since I bought it and think it is incredible, you can check out my rave review here.

And finally, my most used and treasured eyeshadows come in the form of the Dolce Vita Eyeshadow Palette which I got for Christmas last year, so have literally been using it all year. The shadows are so buttery soft and blend like a dream and that garnet color (top right) makes my green eyes pop like nothing else. It really is my dream palette which you can read more about here.

So that is it for another year, I hope you enjoyed reading about my ultimate picks for last year. What beauty product was your favorite from 2014?
