My go-to eyeshadow look of late has been the lightly bronzed and glowing effect. Back in June when I bought my Charlotte Tilbury Filmstar Bronze and Glow, the sales assistant in Selfridges told me that it looks beautiful on the eyes too, using the highlight shade all over the lid and the bronze shade through the crease. I tried it out and it looked amazing, a subtle bronze eye that is brightening and really looks gorgeous. Then New York happened and I completely forgot about this look that was so easy to achieve.
A couple of months ago, I bought Mac Texture Eyeshadow as had heard it was a great transitional shade to blend out a brown smokey eye, which it is. Texture is a velvet eyeshadow, described as a peachy brown with shimmer. Personally, I can’t see the shimmer at all, if you look closely there is a slight sheen, but I would have said it was more matte than anything with a velvet texture, making it a great crease color. I decided to pair it with Mac All That Glitters, which is one of my all-time favorite Mac shadows and is the perfect warm champagne shade which is just so easy and delightful to wear. It goes with so many of my other Mac shadows and is definitely a staple in my make-up bag, and one that I will continuously repurchase.
The effect of these together is the most glowy, lightly bronzed eye that even a nominee at the Golden Globes would be proud to wear! I suddenly remembered about the Charlotte Tilbury Palette on the eyes and tested this out again. Both create a very similar look, the Charlotte Tilbury highlight it not quite as peachy and the bronzer is a little cooler and lighter in tone, but both create such a gorgeous look, which is essentially contour for the eyes! Add a slick of black liner and lashings of mascara and you are good to go!
Of the two, I think I slightly prefer the Mac combination as it is ever so slightly warmer which suits my complexion better, but the Charlotte Tilbury palette would be perfect for travel as you would only need the one palette for bronzer, highlighter and eyeshadow. Another reason why this palette needs to be in everyones make up collection (not that you needed one!).
Will you be trying out this look?
