Nudestix Lip Pen in Lolly Review

Nudestix is a brand that, until now, I hadn’t really taken much notice of. Two sisters, Ally & Taylor, who are also models, are the names behind Nudestix, who “believe a natural look is a perfect fit for any face“. Their ethos is about adding a touch of color here and there to bring out the natural beauty in your face.

All of their products are mainly in stick format for the face, lips and eyes, but they have recently added the Lip Pen ($24) to their range, which contains eight shades of both matte and glossy formulas. I have the shade ‘Lolly’, one of the glossy formulas, which is a beautiful coral. I just have to give my husband a shout out here, as he bought this for me for Christmas and actually went into Sephora alone and picked this for me personally, what a guy! Knowing my love of coral, he did an extremely good job and this would definitely be the color I would have chosen for myself after looking at the shade range.

They have a wind up mechanism with a brush applicator, similar to the Stila Lip Glaze. You actually have to wind the base quite a lot before any product comes out, even between applications which is a little annoying as product is not as instant as with a doe foot applicator, but this is a minor niggle. The gloss itself is very smooth to apply, and has a subtle minty tingle on application. It is a fairly sheer gloss with a single coat but built up, the color is a gorgeous peachy coral that suits my warm complexion. Even when layered up, the gloss does not feel sticky, yes you can feel it on the lips as it is fairly thick in consistency, but I find that it wears well and really lasts on the lips. It also feels quite hydrating which makes it very comfortable to wear.

The sleek black tube comes in a matte black tin with a mirror which is just the cutest packaging that is perfect for carrying this size of product around, you could actually carry a few of your favorite lip products in this for on-the-go! Even though I don’t think this is revolutionary, I do really like the product and it is a great introduction to the Nudestix brand. I have actually also recently tried their Magnetic Eye Colors, which I will be reviewing very shortly for you.

Available from Sephora, Beautylish and Space NK
