I don’t really buy many eyeshadows from the drugstore as I never think the quality and color pay off is as good as higher end shadows. The L’Oreal Infallible Eyeshadows however, are ones that I have heard about countless times, yet never tried, and after a clever bit of couponing in CVS, I picked both of these up for next to nothing! They usually retail for around $7-8 (£6.99 in UK) each which is still fairly inexpensive.
The infallible eyeshadows are quite different from your usual eyeshadow, they are like a pressed pigment, with a very soft velvety texture to them that feels creamy to the touch. They look almost crumbly in the pot, so I thought there would be a lot of fall down when these were applied, but because they are so buttery, they almost melted onto the eyelid. The pigmentation of them is unreal, they are what you would expect from say a Mac Pigment, without all the mess a faff of a loose powder.
I bought the shades Amber Rush and Bronzed Taupe which I know aren’t available in the UK (sorry!), but these were the ones that caught my eye and I think suited my skin tone best. Amber Rush is beyond beautiful, it is a bronzy coppery gold that when catches the light looks amazing and would look great both day and night. Bronzed taupe is as the name suggests really and I love it because it is more of a warm toned taupe. I have to be careful with taupe eyeshadows as a lot of them are quite cool toned which doesn’t suit my colorings, this however has a warmth to it which reflects when it catches the light. Both shadows are very shimmery, but are so smooth and non-glittery that they apply and blend easily. They both look gorgeous on their own just swept across the lid or paired together with amber rush across the lid and bronzed taupe in the crease.
These shadows wore really well, they lasted pretty much all day without creasing and just faded nicely towards the end of the day! I absolutely am in love with the L’Oreal Infallible Eyeshadows, they are 100% the best shadows that I have tried from the drugstore and would definitely rival some higher end ones. I think they are going to look amazing in the summer too as these shades really do have that golden goddess vibe about them!
