Nudestix is a fairly new brand to me, but I was lucky enough to get a couple of their products this Christmas. I have recently reviewed the Lip Pen in Lolly, and now its time to share my thoughts on the Magnetic Eye Colors.
The set that I have is the #GILTYLOVE Holiday Kit ($49) and contains three of the Magnetic Eye Pencils in the shades Night (black), Gilt (pale, warm gold) and Twilight (shimmery taupe). They come housed in Nudestix’s trademark tin, but this one sports a pattern instead of the usual black. Also included is a handy sharpener which I think is a great little addition.
The pencils have a great formulation to them, they are soft and creamy making them super easy to apply, they literally glide across the eye without any dragging whatsoever! The shades Gilt and Twilight can be applied in a flash, once swiped across the lid, they are easily blended with your finger or blending brush. I have been loving the combination of gilt across the lid with twilight through the crease for an easy everyday eye. Gilt is also fantastic as an inner corner highlight, a little dot of this instantly brightens the face! The black shade, Night, I found to be a little trickier to apply, I used it more as a liner, as I don’t really wear black on my lids. I lined my upper lash line and smudged it out, which even though I found easy to do, I just found it a bit too intense on me. This is just my personal preference though as I prefer liquid liner for a more precise, winged look than a smokey effect. When I wear a smokey eye, I much prefer brown shades on my coloring, it seems to suit me better. If you like wearing black though (which I know a lot of people do), this would be perfect as once these pencils are blended they literally do not budge and last all day long, the wear-time is extremely impressive!
Both Gilt and Twilight are very natural looking on the eyes, so if you are someone that loves an easy-to-wear neutral eye that lasts all day, then these are definitely for you. I think these will be great in the summer too as they have a waterproof formulation, which is much needed to prevent them melting away in the heat! This is a great little set that definitely has my seal of approval, you cannot go wrong with such staple colors and I think this would make a gorgeous gift!
These pencils are also available individually ($24/£24) in eight neutral shades, from Sephora, Beautylish, Space NK and Cult Beauty.
