If you are a Pinterest fan like me, you may have seen lots of pins that show drugstore dupes for high end products, lipsticks being the most popular. Now the word ‘dupe’ gets thrown around a lot in the beauty world, often meaning something very similar at a lower price point. Personally, I like to save the term though for when I have found a pretty much identical match. However, on my frequent trips to the drugstore I have picked up a few Wet n Wild Meglast Lipsticks, which are some of the most common duped lipsticks that gets pinned. If you would like to see for yourself, then I have dedicated a whole board to dupes here.
The Wet n Wild Megalast Lipsticks are a matte formulation and a complete bargain at around $2, they are some of the most pigmented lipsticks I own, it is outstanding for the price! I have the shades (L-R) Just Peachy (peachy pink), Sugar Plum Fairy (vibrant plum) and Bare It All (browny nude). They have a creamy formula which applies evenly, the only exception being Sugar Plum Fairy, which is drier than the lighter shades, making it harder to apply as it pulls on the lips a little. I find them very comfortable to wear and they last for hours (seriously hours!), so I would definitely recommend them especially being so affordable!
The negatives are the packaging which is very basic and can catch on the lipstick, making it look messy and also the flat shape of the bullet, making a little awkward to apply. These are only minor though, as I appreciate that for $2, who really cares!
So what lipsticks are they dupes of?
I have listed below the dupes of the shades in this post, and although I don’t actually own all of their alternatives (so cannot clarify how similar they are), if you have been longing for a high end lipstick that is just too darn expensive, then it is definitely worth checking out these $2 alternatives!
Wet n Wild Just Peachy is a dupe of YSL Rouge Volupte 13 Peach Passion & Lime Crime Babette.
Wet n Wild Sugar Plum Fairy is a dupe of Mac Rebel.
Wet n Wild Bare It All is a dupe of Mac Velvet Teddy (Kylie Jenner’s favorite!), Mac Honey Love & Revlon Mauve It Over. It is also fairly similar to the limited edition Mac Toledo Oxblood, which I own and although it is a touch darker, it is pretty much identical. Great for those who missed out on this one!
There are so many Wet n Wild Megalast shades that if you search on Pinterest, you will be sure to find a dupe of a more luxury brand. I love finding dupes and am pinning them all the time. Make sure you follow my board, so you can keep updated with all my new discoveries!
