Jo Malone fragrances excite me like no other and this new collection is just so nostalgic especially for a Brit like me living away from my home country. Jo Malone Rock The Ages* is a limited edition collection of five fragrances that celebrates Great Britain throughout the ages from Tudor times right through to modern day. Each fragrance represents a different era and smelling each one literally takes you on a trip through time and is reminiscent of that time in history.
Tudor Rose & Amber – inspired by the heraldic Tudor rose, this fragrance is blended with opulent rose absolute, clove and ginger, whilst golden amber wraps the fragrance in warm sensuality. This is possibly my favorite of the five, which is surprising as I am not usually one for rose scents. This is not your typical flowery scent though as the warmth of the spices gives it a more sensual feel.
Lily Of The Vally & Ivy – reminiscent of Georgian London. Sparkling cassis and green ivy give it that initial freshness, whilst lily of the valley and narcissus add a lavish heart. This is the lightest fragrance of the collection, and is very fresh and Spring-like, making it perfect for this time of year!
Pomegranate Noir – depicts the Victorian era, a golden age embracing the English drama. This is the only permanent fragrance in the collection where luscious pomegranate is layered with Casablanca lily and spiked with cool pink pepper. One of Jo Malone’s best selling fragrances that is dramatic and intense.
Geranium & Verbena – captures the cool elegance of Edwardian summers. Aromatic verbena and basil are blended with refined and elegant geranium, which is also enveloped with coumarin and vetiver for a charismatic scent. On initial spray this is my least favorite of the collection, however, once settled on the skin it makes for a clean, elegant fragrance which is easy to wear.
Birch & Black Pepper – represents Britain today. Black pepper and cardamom adds a cool spiciness, which is is layered with smokey birch for that contrast in scents. Notes of magnetic ink are met with the smooth warmth of gurjum to create a modern, unique scent perfect for this era. I really love this fragrance for its individuality, stylish and and sensual scent, it is one of a kind, just like Britain!
Jo Malone has really captivated Britain superbly in these colognes, and smelling each one captures a moment in history which is so unique from a fragrance collection. They are all so different so I would recommend you get to a Jo Malone counter to try for yourself to see which era captivates you. Be quick though as this collection is limited edition! Priced at $65 for 30ml, this size is perfect for your handbag and travel. Which one would you go for?
