Make Up Revolution Iconic Blush Bronze & Brighten Palette in Golden Hot

Make Up Revolution is a brand that I am seeing constantly on blogs, and all I ever hear is great review after great review. Before now, I had never actually tried anything from them as they are not available in the States yet and I was slow on the uptake when they launched in the UK. Luckily for me, my amazing friend Gemma from Miss Makeup Magpie (who I believe is Make Up Revolution’s number one fan!), sent me a few products that I had selected in a little UK to US swap that we did recently.

The Make Up Revolution Iconic Blush Bronze & Brighten is a palette of three products perfect to contour with, a bronzer, a highlighter and a blush which are all housed in this black slimline case with mirror. There are obvious comparisons to the Sleek palette of the same nature and more recently Bobbi Brown has released something similar for Spring, but as I own neither of them, I am not going to draw similarities. What I will say though that at only £4, this is honestly one of the best buys from the drugstore you will find in terms of the quality you get for your money.

There are four palettes in this collection, containing varying shades, but I decided upon Golden Hot, which I thought suited my complexion the most and is warm toned so thought it would be great for the upcoming Spring and Summer months. The bronzer has golden tones to it which warms up the face easily whilst adding a very subtle sheen. It is not overly shimmery but not completely matte either, so a great middle of the road compromise. It doesn’t look orange or muddy and have found it easy to layer up to create the perfect intensity. The highlighter shade is just beautiful, it is a golden champagne color, which although is obviously shimmery, blends into the skin well leaving a gorgeous sheen on the cheekbones. Finally the pinky peach blush, which gives a warm flush to the cheeks and does a great job at complementing the other shades in the palette. I would say that anyone with fairer skin than my current NC30 skin tone, may like to consider one of the other shades in the collection as they may find Golden Hot a little dark for them.

I think the quality of these powders a fantastic, they are not chalky at all, they are well pigmented and apply and blend easily. I love having the three powders in one, it makes things very easy when applying your make up as you know all three will look great together. I also think it is great to have a multi-use product such as this when it comes to travel and this combines three products in one, save a lot of space and weight and is also perfect for popping in your clutch to top up during a night out.

I am really impressed with my first Make Up Revolution product, it is easily as good as some higher end brands and I totally get all the hype there is about their products at the moment.

Folks in the UK can buy Make Up Revolution from Superdrug instore and online as well as from the Make Up Revolution website. They do also ship to the US for £7.95 which if you stock up on a few products is not too unreasonable. I have a few more Make Up Revolution products to share with you in the coming weeks, so stay tuned for them!
