On a mission to track down the new Burberry Kisses lipsticks, (which I have become obsessed about even before getting the chance to try them!), I visited the Burberry counter at Saks Fifth Avenue. I must have visited a couple of days too early as unfortunately they did not have them yet, but instead I got roped into a full on make over by one of the ladies at the counter. I am really not one for getting my make up done at counters, but I have become so obsessed lately with Burberry make up and having never really tried it, I was eager to see the products in action.
The foundation she used on my was the Burberry Sheer Foundation in Trench No. 5 which she mixed with a little of the Fresh Glow Luminous Fluid Base to add a gorgeous glow. I was a bit worried when she said this was called ‘sheer’ as I usually like a little more coverage, however it managed to cover all my redness beautifully and created a pretty flawless base. It is very lightweight and looks extremely natural on the skin which is very refreshing for someone who normally wears heavier foundations. I thought it would be a great choice for the coming summer months too. I will do a proper review of this, once I have trialled it for a few more weeks.
After setting my base with powder and creating a gorgeous golden taupe eye look, (which is a post for another time as I have a long list of eye products that need to be mine at some point!), she added some color to my cheeks by using the Burberry Light Glow Natural Blush in No. 6 Tangerine Blush. This is a very natural looking warm peach shade, which although is fairly subtle, instantly warms the complexion which I thought looked beautiful.
The final product that I bought was the Burberry Lip Glow Balm in No. 1 Orange Poppy. This is a sheer lipstick which is so hydrating on the lips and the color just screamed out holiday to me! It is a beautiful orange-toned red, which really compliments my warm skin tone and because it is so sheer, it is not too intense making it extremely wearable.
All Burberry make up comes in the most beautiful packaging sporting the iconic Burberry check and really is a joy to behold. Having this mini make over was a great introduction to Burberry make up, which has really ignited a new obsession for me. I’m not sure if it is because I get drawn to British things living in the States, but I now know there is a very long list of products on my wishlist, Burberry Kisses being at the top!
