The Clarins Blue Orchid Face Treatment Oil has been on my radar for some time now, and after finally finishing some other face oils in my stash, it was time to add it to my skincare routine. I have previously loved the Clarins Lotus Oil for my congested skin, but these days, even though my skin is still oily to combination, one of my main concerns is dehydration which is the type of skin this oil is aimed at, so knew that it would be perfect for me.
As with all Clairns face oils, it is made from 100% pure plant extracts, in this case patchouli oil and blue orchid oil tone and revitalize the skin to give a fresher-looking appearance, whilst hazelnut oil delivers moisture to ensure soft and supple skin. The combination of these oils create a beautiful spa-like scent, so is a gorgeous treat for your skin before bedtime.
I have been using it most nights for the past six weeks in place of my moisturizer, as I don’t feel I need any additional creams after using this. After cleansing and toning my skin, I take a dropper full of the oil and really massage it into my skin. It is a fairly lightweight oil but it does take a few minutes to be fully absorbed into the skin.
When I wake up in the morning, I really notice a difference in my skin, it looks fresh and plump, making fine lines look reduced as well as redness. I find that with dehydrated skin, I suffer with a lot of redness and breakouts if not kept under control. Using this oil, my skin tone is more even, I hardly notice any redness in my skin any more and my breakouts are less angry. Having acne-prone skin I still suffer with the odd break out, but what I have noticed is that they are less inflamed and less painful and I think this oil has helped in keeping them under control. If my skin is kept hydrated then blemishes are less apparent, which is something that took me years to work out, but is something I live by now, I never use products that strip my skin as breakouts are more severe.
The Clarins Blue Orchid Face Treatment Oil, is a welcomed addition to my skincare routine and a product that I will definitely be repurchasing again and again. After six weeks use I have used just less than half the bottle, so expect one 30ml bottle to last about 3 months, longer if you use it sparingly. I would highly recommend this if you suffer with dehydrated skin, it really will help to balance and hydrate your skin.
