As a beauty addict, I always find packing my toiletries and skincare one of the most stressful parts of getting ready for a holiday. I don’t want to take too much because I actually need to out some clothes in my case too, but then I don’t want to miss something out, what if I get a break out or my skin decides to resemble a lizard, I need the products with me to deal with it! I also want to make sure I take all my regular skincare, even if that means three cleansers, two toners and a range of serums and oils! I am sure normal people don’t have these life situations, but I know that you beauty addicts amongst us, will feel my pain!
I am currently on holiday in Mexico now and in preparation before I left, I had a trip to Muji and the result has literally reduced my beauty baggage in half! A set of stacking pots and a couple of empty bottles has literally transformed the way I pack. In my Muji stacking pots I decanted the products that would take up the most room in my case if I were to pack the full size version. The Kate Somerville Goat Milk Cream which has become my new favorite moisturizer had to be included, it really hydrates my skin which is essential for sun-parched skin. Next my two cleansers, the Oskia Renaissance Cleanser for the morning and Glamglow Supercleanse for the evenings. To protect and strengthen my hair I decanted the Kerastase Ciment Thermique and finally I had to take the First Aid Beauty Ultra Repair Cream, a new essential for me that sorts out any skin emergency and should be on hand at all times! In the 100ml bottles also from Muji, I decanted my shampoo and conditioner which are also from Kerastaste!
I have also been stock piling luxury samples from Sephora as well as sachets samples that I seem to have a vast array of. I have a couple of Origins face masks, the Drink Up Overnight Mask which is an essential for dehydrated skin and also the Clear Improvement Charcoal Mask to deep clean! I am taking a sachet of deep conditioner for my hair to give it a treat half way through the week and protect it from the damaging effects of the sun. Also an eye cream is a great sachet to take as they can sometimes last for up to a week!
And of course, it is essential to stock up on travel size beauty products from your favorite brands if you cannot dispense into plastic bottles. My travel mini essentials include Colab Dry Shampoo, Bioderma Sensibo H2O and Boscia Cleansing Oil. I also have this mini La Vanilla Deodorant Stick which I got in the Sephora Skin Wonderland Kit before Christmas so am giving this a go as it takes up miminal space and smells amazing too.
I managed to get all my toiletries into one compact bag, which for me is quite the achievement. I definitely recommend the Muji stacking pots a if you need to minimize your luggage!
