Clarins Self-Tanning – Which Is The Best?

Clarins facial self tanning products have got to be some of the best on the market, but with so many different types to choose from, which is the best for you? Let me start by saying they all give a very natural looking tan, these will not make you look like an Oompa Loompa in any way shape of form. I think the frequency you use them will determine the depth of color. I probably only use these once or twice a week, or when I remember really, although if you are looking for something darker, you could use them every other day for greater intensity. I have done this in the past and even though you maintain and slighter deepen the color, these never look unnatural or streaky in any way! You have to remember that if you have a good skincare routine that involves exfoliating, the skin on the face is constantly being renewed so color from facial tanners will be lost too!

I am going to start this round-up with the product I have been using the longest, and that is the Clarins Liquid Bronze Self Tanning. This is a creamy liquid that you put on a cotton pad and apply to your face. I normally do this after toning, wait for it to dry and then apply my moisturizer. It can be applied at night so you wake with a fresh glow or alternatively, in the morning and in a couple of hours it develops into a gorgeous natural tan. This doesn’t break me out or cause sensitivities, it really is a lovely facial tan that always manages to add a natural bronzed tint to the skin.

Secondly and possibly my personal favorite is the Clarins Radiance-Plus Golden Glow Booster*, which are tanning drops that you add to your everyday moisturizer. A few drops of this will give you a golden glow and then best thing about this is that you can adjust the intensity depending on how tanned you want to be. I tend to add about 3 drops, but depending on your skin tone and how tanned you are you can add more or less. Another reason I love this so much is that I always forget to self-tan, so this is perfect as a great last minute tan booster on the day you need it. I have a full review of this here

Finally, my most recent discovery is the Clarins Instant Smooth Self Tanning, which is also another great option for a last minute golden glow. This is a complexion perfecter and self tanner in one, which you apply as you would a primer and continue with the rest of your make up. It is a gorgeous caramel-toned cream that glides over the skin, filling in lines and pores creating a smooth and even surface. Again it gives a lovely warm toned sun kissed look to the skin that develops within a couple of hours. I love the effects of this, I just find the actual product quite silicone-y and it feels a bit heavy for my combination to oily skin. It may be better suited to more drier skin types.

All three are amazing products, it purely personal preference which one you like the best, but if you are in the market for a new facial self-tanners then I would definitely turn to Clarins. If I had to pick one out of the three then it would have to be the Clarins Radiance-Plus Golden Glow Booster for ease of use and adaptability.

Have you tried Clairns Facial Self-Tanners? Which is your favorite?
