Le Labo was a brand that I had never heard about until my husband bought me their Neroli 36 body lotion as a birthday present. Le Labo are a French perfumery based in New York that make their fragrances in-store using the highest quality of ingredients. These ingredients don’t come cheap, so their perfumes reflect the calibre of the craftsmanship in which they are made. You can read more about their philosophy here.
Neroli 36 Body Lotion is enriched with Vitamin E, Vitamin A, aloe vera, coconut, white tea extract and olive oil, along with shea butter to soften the skin. The Neroli scent is something quite beautiful too, it is actually another name for the essence of Orange Blossom, I’ll let Le Labo explain the scent:
“The Unique quality of our Neroli is its sunny floral character with a extraordinary warm, sensual base. Rose, musk, mandarin orange (slightly aldehydic), jasmine and vanilla, among other essences complete the portrait, bringing Neroli 36 spikiness, ease, zest and heat.”
The scent is beautiful, I love the jasmine and vanilla notes that come through as they are two of my most favorite smells. The lotion itself is extremely fragrant and really does last all day long. At $65 a bottle it’s price tag makes me use it sparingly, so I usually apply it to my arms and chest area only, but it can be used in place of a perfume easily. It’s handy pump makes it easy to dispense and the luxurious lotion absorbs easily.
If you have not yet tried Le Labo, I would highly recommend hunting down their fragrances. In New York they can be found in Barneys and Saks Fifth Avenue, but they also have their own Boutique on Elizabeth Street, which I have yet to visit but I am looking forward to paying a visit soon.
