Sunday Riley is a brand that I have had my eye on for a while and as I was in need of eye cream, my first purchase was the Start Over Active Eye Gel Cream. At $85 this seems quite pricey, but this bottle contains 1fl oz/30ml which is actually double the size of most other eye creams on the market, so actually works out cheaper than a lot of high end brands. It is suitable for all skin types and aims to correct puffiness, dark circles and fine lines, while ocean algae provides anti-pollution protection.
The packaging is sleek and comes with a pump, making it easier and more hygienic than a pot, although you only need to use about half a pump for both eyes so you have to control the amount you pump out, which is not too difficult. I have been using this twice daily for nearly four months now, and am almost at the end of the bottle now, so have definitely given it a good run for its money!
Overall, I am happy with the performance of Sunday Riley Start Over, although I wouldn’t say it was revolutionary product but I really like the results it gives. With regards to puffiness, I didn’t actually think I was a sufferer of puffy eyes, however this has made my under eye area much more refined and firmer, and I have to say that I look a lot less tired, so love how this cream makes my eye area look. It has definitely reduced dark circles, although not completely irradiated them, which I honestly think would be a miracle for any eye cream, so am happy with how it has performed. The most noticeable effect though for me, is the reduction of fine lines. Yes I still have fine lines, but the ones that creep down onto the high points of your cheek when you smile have practically gone, giving me a much more youthful look which I really appreciate.
I am very happy with the results of Sunday Riley Start Over Eye Cream and would definitely recommend it. The only negative for me was that if you apply the cream too near the eye, it really really stings, which puts me off it a little. I may just have very sensitive eyes but have never experienced this with any other eye cream previously, so it may just be an ingredient that I am sensitive to, however it is worth noting that if you are sensitive, this may not be the eye cream for you.
I am looking forward to trying out more of Sunday Riley products soon, so many people speak so highly of her products, so I can’t wait to give them a go!
