Tomorrow marks the official start of Autumn, so in honor of the forthcoming season I decided to get ready all my Autumn appropriate nail colors to look at what shades I will be wearing over the next few months. I have recently had to throw away quite a lot of nail polish that I had either had for too long or had gone gloopy due to the hot weather, so I have decided that I am going to try to not buy any more nail polishes this season and use what I already have in my collection.
So here is what made the cut:
Essie Angora Cardi – this polish is quite new to my collection and is a muted plum shade that I bought for the transition of Summer to Autumn, but will definitely be my sophisticated choice for Autumn. It is quite cool toned and makes the nails look effortlessly elegant
Maybelline Divine Wine – an Autumn favorite that has been in my collection for the past couple of years. A vivid purple/berry shade that is perfection for this time of year, in one of my all time formulations, that applies beautifully and lasts for days.
Essie Bahama Mama – this is has got to be one of my all time favorite nail polishes, a deep berry shade that isn’t too light or too vampy. Even though it is quite dark in tone, the plummy tones of this still shine through so never looks overly gothic.
Maybelline Deep Red – the name really says it all, a true red that is deep in tone so great for this time of year and even into winter. One of my more subtle reds if there is such a thing!
Essie Russian Roulette – one of my most favorite red polishes. A classic red that is neither too orange or too blue-toned and looks good for any occasion.
Rimmel Celebrity Bash – a deep wine shade that I am obsessed with, and I think is very similar to Rouge Noir by Chanel, a real classic! This polish has a lovely wide brush that makes application a breeze and adds a little bit of vamp to your nails during the cooler months.
Essie Chinchilly – a light grey shade with slight purple undertones to it that is a classic Essie shade. I need to get more wear out of this, as it is such a pretty shade but I tend to opt for reds/berry shades more. It reminds me of a grey, cloudy day in the UK and is a good neutral option for a change to all the berry, red and plum shades.
Revlon Fall Mood – this is my shimmery option that is a gorgeous copper shade with very fine silver and gold glitter running through it. Don’t worry though, it is easy to remove and is the perfect metallic option this season.
