Autumn Makeup Essentials

Now we are officially in the the midst of Autumn, I thought I would share with you the makeup that I have been wearing to get in the mood of the season. As someone with green eyes, the autumnal colors are very complimentary to me as there are a lot of plums, purples, reddish browns and copper tones around at this time of the year that suit me well.

The eyeshadows that I have been reaching for the most over the past few weeks have been the Mac Burgundy x 9 Eyeshadow Palette, which is just perfection for this time of year. It contains all the shades you will need to pull off an autumnal look, there are gold and mauve-toned neutrals as well as more darker burgundy, browns and purples too. Of course my beloved Charlotte Tilbury Dolce Vita Eyeshadow Palette has also come into play of late too, I love this all year round, but having been making more use of it recently. For the day, I love just wearing the palest champagne shade all over the lid with just a touch of the burnished red through the crease. For a night out though, I make use of the whole palette, adding depth and drama with the brown, plus a touch of bronze sparkle on the lid. For liner, I am all about browns these days, I find them much more flattering and not as harsh as black, Mac Teddy is a great choice particularly on the waterline as it contains a subtle copper shimmer which is so pretty.

I am usually more of a nude lip girl, but I always pull out the plum tones in autumn. Mac Soar lip liner is a great choice if you want to go a little bolder but don’t want it too intense, I like just wearing this all over the lips with a bit of lip balm for soft mauve lip. I love wearing Soar with Mac Plumful though, this is my perfect autumn lip combo as even though it is quite bold, I find it extremely wearable and looks good day and night. Another berry option is the Fresh Sugar Lip Treatment in Berry, which has much more of a balmy texture and is a little shearer so can be applied alone for a gorgeous pop of berry to compliment an autumnal look.

With more intense eye and lip options, it is nice to keep the cheeks quite neutral and I have been loving the Burberry Light Glow Natural Blush in Tangerine Blush, which has a warm peachy tone to it and looks extremely natural and fresh on the cheeks.

Finally, a spritz of Diptyque Eau Duelle adds the finishing touch to make me feel autumn ready. I love the the spicy vanilla notes that make me feel all cosy on the inside and the scent lingers all day long.
