Kiehl’s Skin Rescuer

Kiehl's Skin Rescuer

As some of you may know, my favorite moisturizer of late has been the Kate Somerville Goat Milk Cream for its soothing, hydrating and lightweight formula that agrees so well with my skin. However the price of it is not so friendly and I find that I get through it very quickly, so I was on the market for a more cost effective moisturizer with similar properties, and then I remembered back to a year a so ago when I was using the Kiehls Skin Rescuer and how much my skin loved it. I never blogged about it at the time as I think it was at the same time I moved to New York, so was a bit preoccupied!

The Kiehl’s Skin Rescuer ($40) is described as a stress-minimizing daily hydrator that reduces visible signs of stress including skin fatigue and redness. I have combination to oily skin that is dehydrated and prone to redness, sensitivities and acne, which can be quite temperamental if not looked after and properly hydrated. I have been using this moisturizer for just over a month this time, and have once again been thrilled with the results.

It has a medium consistency that is absorbed well by the skin, 1-2 pumps is all that is needed, which I apply after serum/oil and allow it to soak in. I find it very hydrating and soothing for my skin, it calms any redness and gives the skin a more even tone. It does not cause me to break out and I think has really helped to balance my skin as it as not over oily or dry at all (NB. this maybe due to my pregnancy though as my skin is generally better overall at present). It makes a great base for makeup, as well as the last step in my evening skincare routine. I love the travel-friendly pump bottle too (no decanting required!), which contains a pleasing 75ml/2.5fl.oz so really lasts a long time, making it a much more cost effective purchase.

If you are someone that has easily irritated skin, that is prone to redness and dehydration, I would highly recommend giving Kiehl’s Skin Rescuer a try, it is my new skincare staple which I definitely plan on repurchasing.
