The nude lipstick loving gene (honestly a thing!) inside of me, couldn’t resist a couple more, so today I bring you my two new favorite lipsticks, the Laura Mercier Lip Parfait in Ameretto Swirl and the Hourglass Femme Nude Stylo in No. 6, both of which go perfectly with everyone’s favorite nude lip pencil, the Charlotte Tilbury Lip Cheat in Pillowtalk.
I have been coveting the Hourglass Femme Nude Lip Stylo for a while now, for a nude lip lover like myself, it is the most beautiful collection of six different nudes. I then saw Millie Mackintosh wearing shade No.6 with a smokey eye at her book launch recently, followed by Lisa Eldridge featuring the same shade in her Nude Lips video, where she recommended it for light to medium skin tones (which I have). It looked beautiful on both of them, so knew that No. 6 had to be mine, so armed with some handy N-Dulge points, off to Space NK I went.
It is a mauve-toned nude and is probably the deepest shade of nude that I own, which makes it look quite sophisticated on the lips, compared to the more peachy pink nudes that I am used to. It has a creamy consistency and the finish is fairly opaque with a satin sheen to it. These contain Vitamin E to nourish and moisturize the lips too which makes it feel comfortable to wear. It is presented as a crayon shaped lipstick, which I find great for precise application and comes in sleek brown and gold metallic packaging, which I love. These are beautiful lipsticks and it is nice to have a new shade of nude in my collection.
In contrast, I hadn’t actually read or seen anything about the Laura Mercier Lip Parfaits, I just found myself swatching it every time I visited Sephora. The shade Amaretto Swirl is right up my street, it is a light pinky beige that I have been wearing nearly everyday since I bought it. It has the perfect balance of pink and beige as it is not too pale and not too pink and I am totally obsessed. This lipstick is beyond creamy and literally melts onto the lips and feels like a lip balm to wear. It does, however have great coverage and also added shine without the stickiness of a gloss. It is like an all-in-one perfect lip product, which leaves your lips looking full and juicy!
Both lipsticks looks beautiful alone, but for added definition they pair well with the Charlotte Tilbury Lip Cheat in Pillowtalk, which you need in your life if you are a fellow lover of pinky nudes, it is just the best! I am definitely getting more wear from the Laura Mercier Lip Parfait, which has become a new staple in my collection, but I love the deeper, more mauve tones of the Hourglass offering which gives a more muted yet still nude look.
