Top Beauty Products To Buy When You Visit The US

October through to Christmas sees a lot of people visiting New York as it is a great time of year to come to appreciate the cooler climate and gorgeous colors of Fall and the excitement of Christmas. It is a great excuse to come and stock up on some essentials and I have seen a lot of people on Twitter recently asking what beauty products they should be buying when visiting the US.

You may remember I recently wrote a posted titled ‘Top Beauty Products To Buy When You Visit the UK‘, which proved to be very popular, so with all this in mind I am going to tell you my favorite beauty products that I would recommend from the US. I thought about the products that I have bought since living here in New York that I absolutely love and use regularly and also if I ever left the US, what products I would hate to be without. So here are my picks:

Kat Von D Tattoo Liner (review)

Arguably the best liquid liner out there. This liner has a brush instead of a felt tip nib, which makes drawing a precise line far easier. It also means that it doesn’t dry out and keeps its shape so will last you longer. It has an opaque black formula that lasts all day and doesn’t flake or smudge, I absolutely love this!

Lorac Pro Palette
The palette of dreams! This collection of both and shimmer eyeshadows is probably my favorite of all my palettes as they have such a pigmented formula that applies and blends so well. The shades are a great selection of mainly warm toned shadows that really suits my coloring. If you prefer more cooler toned shades, don’t worry as there is the Pro Palette 2, which would be better suited for you. The only downside is that this is only available at Ulta, so if you are visiting NYC, you will have trouble tracking this down as there are no Ulta stores in the city.

Kate Somerville Goat Milk Cream (review)

My absolute favorite moisturizer. This lightweight cream does an amazing job of keeping my skin hydrated whilst also calming redness and reducing any sensitivity. It has definitely helped in creating a more even skin tone and reducing blemishes and I love that it absorbs instantaneously. Kate Somerville really is such a great brand to check out if you visit the States.

Milani BlushesMatte (review) and Baked

Milani blushes are probably one of the best picks from the drugstore, they are very affordable, very long-lasting and come in a great selection of shades. Probably the most talked about product is the Baked Blush in Luminoso, which is a gorgeous peachy pink shade with golden shimmer running through it, that leaves the cheeks with a fresh glow. More recently they have added the Rose Powder Blushes to their line, which are completely matte and come in the most gorgeous shades. I love the shade Romantic Rose as a great everyday blush and also Coral Cove which I use more in the Spring/Summer.

Tarte Amazonian Clay 12hr Blushes (review)

If you are a more high end blush, then get straight to Sephora and pick up theses blushes from Tarte. They have a 12hr wearing formula which doesn’t fade or settle into pores and fine lines, even on my combination to oily skin. They come in vast range of gorgeous shades, but I can highly recommend the shade Tipsy if you like a coral blush to liven up the complexion. Aside from the bluses, Tarte is an amazing brand to stock up on while you are in the US, and I can also highly recommend their mascaras and Butter lipstick.

Make Up Forever Full Cover Concealer (review)

This is my favorite concealer for covering blemishes and imperfections on the skin. It has a beautiful creamy formula that blends well into the skin and is very long lasting. Too thick for under the eyes, but everywhere else it works wonders. I have used this concealer daily for the past 15 months and I am just coming to the end now, so a little goes a long way!

L’Oreal Infalliable Eyeshadows – Amber Rush and Bronzed Taupe (review)

These shadows are available in the UK and elsewhere, however they do not have the same shade selection. The shade Amber Rush is a beautiful coppery gold, that is absolutely stunning and Bronzed Taupe is a warm toned taupe . These shades are probably the most talked about and I know that every beauty blogger stocks up on them when visiting the US. They are both shimmery shades but are very smooth to apply and blend easily without any fall out. Probably the best eyesdahows that you will find in the drugstore.

NYX Butter Gloss (review)

These are one of my favorite lipgloss formulas ever, they even rival a lot of my higher end ones. They have such a creamy formula that tastes amazing, and are so comfortable and hydrating to wear, without any nasty stickiness to them, I cannot fault them. They come in 22 different shades but if you are after the perfect accompaniment to a nude lip, then it has to be Creme Brûlée, which lives in my handbag at all times!

Wet n Wild Mega Last Lipsticks (review)

If you are after a long lasting lipstick from the drugstore then look no further as these $2 beauties are some of the best around. They have a matte formulation which actually feels quite comfortable on the lips and come in some amazing shades that are dupes for a lot of higher end lipsticks. If you can look past the uninspiring packaging, then these are definitely ones to add to your wishlist.

I hope that helps a little with your shopping list for the US. Other great brands to try if you are looking for hair care are Living Proof and Dry Bar, however I have not tested these products enough yet to fully recommend, but I know they are highly sort after.

If you have any other recommendations for great US beauty products then please let me know in the comments below, I love trying out new products!
