If there is one brand you should turn to if you want to emulate the celebrities, then it has to be Charlotte Tilbury. She is is one of the worlds best makeup artists and has made up countless celebrities, so it’s no wonder they turn to her to create their look for red carpet events and award shows.
You will know by now that I am a massive fan of Charlotte Tilbury products, and her lipsticks in particular have received a celebrity following. Most of the names for her lipsticks are inspired by celebrities that Charlotte has worked with, but what we really want to know is what are the shades that they actually wear?
There are two types of lipsticks in the Charlotte Tilbury line; the original K.I.S.S.I.N.G Lipsticks that soften and protect whilst 3D pigments create the illusion of wider, fuller lips, and also the Matte Revolution Lipsticks which have been immensely popular due to their hydrating, nourishing qualities whilst still providing a long-lasting matte finish.
My most favorite K.I.S.S.I.N.G. Lipstick that I own has to be the shade Penelope Pink*, a warm toned pinky nude that is very complimentary and doesn’t wash you out. This was inspired by Penelope Cruz, but the likes of Emily Ratajowski has also been rocking this beauty! I have a full review of this lipstick and it complimentary products here.
The shade Nude Kate, which was of course inspired by Kate Moss is more of a traditional beige nude and looks great paired with a smokey eye, rock chick style. Kim Kardashian looks great in this lipstick and it compliments her warm complexion and smokey eye well.
A shade that I should have really tried by now, as I am obsessed with corals, is Coachella Coral and has been adorned recently by the gorgeous Miranda Kerr. I shall definitely be checking this one out next Spring, it is that perfect pop of color that really lifts the complexion.
Since their launch, the Charlotte Tilbury Matte Revolution Lipsticks (full review here) have been extremely popular, especially with the celebs. Cindy Crawford wore Bond Girl to her recent book launch, whilst Amal Clooney looked stunning in Red Carpet Red and both Sara Sampaio and Taylor Schilling wowed in the vibrant tones of 1975 Red.
There are two shades though, that have really got everyones attention recently and both shades are just perfect for the Fall. Firstly, Very Victoria*, a suede, taupe nude inspired Victoria Beckham, which has also been worn recently by Bella Hadid, Kim Kardashian and the gorgeous Lily Alridge who keeps hers as a staple in her handbag. I thought this shade may look a little too brown on me, but actually the cool tones in it do not overpower and make for a very sophisticated look, which I have become obsessed with too.
The other shade that is very Fall appropriate, is Glastonberry*, a beautiful blackcurrent and has been worn by the likes of Rhianna and Sienna Miller. It is a very plumy purple which is deep in tone and looks amazing at this time of year, quite vampy! The square tip of the Matte Revolution Lipsticks, makes dark shades such as this so much easier and more precise to apply.
