Glamglow Poutmud

Glamglow Poutmud

The latest launch from one of my favorite brands Glamglow, is a lip treatment duo known as Poutmud. This contains two gorgeously aesthetic (but a pain to photograph!) silver balls, one of which contains Fizzy Lip, an exfoliating lip treatment and the other containing Wet Lip, a lip balm treatment. As winter is on its way, the season of dry chapped lips, I thought these would be a great investment for the coming months.

You apply the Fizzy Lip Exfoliating Treatment first, by massaging onto dry lips for 5-10 seconds then wet your fingers to activate the fizzing renewal action before either rinsing or wiping away. You then apply the Wet Lip Balm Treatment to moisturize the lips. This says it can be used 2-3 times a week, but I don’t think it is too harsh to apply more frequently than this. Both the exfoliating treatment and lip balm have a gorgeous minty smell to them which I love, it tastes great and leaves the lips feeling very fresh.

My favorite of the two products is definitely the exfoliating treatment, which is a blend of Caribbean cane sugar, Hawaiian sea salt and hibiscus flower powder. The granules are like sugar and have just the right amount of abrasion to them, so they definitely do a great job at creating smooth lips, but without being overly harsh. Once you add water, the granules dissolve and your lips are left feeling super smooth and soft.

The Wet Lip Balm is a blend of hydrating oils and butter such as sweet almond oil, cocoa butter, murumuru butter and shea butter. As the name would suggest, it is quite a wet lip balm, so is fairly soft and smoothes over the lips easily. It doesn’t absorb as quickly as I would like and you can definitely feel it as a layer on your lips for a while after application which some people may like. I personally find it a little too wet and prefer the drier texture of my favorite, Nuxe Reve de Miel which is more matte. It does however, moisturize the lips well and do a good job at hydrating and softening.

Glamglow Poutmud retails for $39 (although I got it in the Sephora VIB sale), which does sounds quite a lot for a lip treatment, however these pots are huge and both contain 0.85oz/25g of product so will definitely last you a while. I’d prefer the lip balm to be a little thicker, but I shall definitely be using these a lot once the New York winter kicks in, I think they are perfect as an evening treatment so you wake up with super smooth lips come morning.

Do you use a lip exfoliating treatment? What are you favorite products?
