The latest Mac collaboration is one that I have been eagerly anticipating since seeing images a few months ago. The Mac Ellie Goulding Collection, which has just launched in the US is a beautiful array of pinky peach and neutral toned products, which are all the shades that I just adore. I don’t tend to buy into Mac collaborations that often, but the color palette of this collection is one that I could not ignore, especially in this gorgeous patent black and gold packaging.
The pieces I decided on, are ones that I know I will get a lot of use out of. I loved the look of the Halcyon Days and Halcyon Night Palette, but decided that I didn’t really need another neutral eyeshadow palette at the moment and find the packaging of these palettes quite bulky. In the end I chose the Powder Blush in I’ll Hold My Breath; the Patentpolish Lip Pencil in Revved Up and the Cremesheen Lipstick in It’s Only You.
The Mac Ellie Goulding Powder Blush in I’ll Hold My Breath, is a bronzer/blush duo containing a warm toned bronzer and complimenting peachy pink blush in a satin finish. This is such a gorgeous product and probably my favorite of the three. The bronzer is a gorgeous, slightly shimmery mid-toned shade that suits me well and applies smoothly and evenly. The blush is the perfect mix of peach and pink and looks beautiful against the bronzer. I love having both shades in one palette, making it suitable for on-the-go or travel.
The Mac Ellie Goulding Patentpolish Lip Pencil in Revved Up, is a retractable ‘chubby style’ lip crayon in a creamy peach shade with a fine golden shimmer to it. I was so impressed with the formula of the Berry Black Friday Patentpolish, that I couldn’t resist another. Although this a lot sheerer in color than Berry Black Friday, it is the perfect easy-to-use, no mirror required color. It is a great everyday shade and although not particularly unique, I love how the formula stays put and keeps the lips looking juicy.
The Mac Ellie Goulding Lipstick in Only You, is a muted mid-toned coral in a cremesheen finish. It leans more pink than peach, with warm undertones and is another incredibly easy shade to wear that I think would suit a lot of skin tones. It has the well loved creamy formulation that applies easily and feels beautifully moisturizing and of course has the signature vanilla scent. Definitely a great addition to my Mac lipstick collection!
I absolutely love all the pieces that I bought, they are extremely wearable and suitable all year round. If you are a lover of peachy pink, neutral or bronzy tones, then I would highly recommend checking out this limited edition collection. The Mac Ellie Goulding Collection is available now in the US, online and in Nordstrom and released on December 26th in the UK.
