Its that time of year again, when I get to round up all my most loved beauty products from the past twelve months. This time last year I shared with you my 14 Top Beauty Favourites from 2014 and for fear of repeating myself (as a lot of those products are still favorites this year), I have decided to share with you my 15 top beauty discoveries of the year, so products that I have never tried until this past year, and believe me there was a lot. It was so hard to narrow it down, but these are all products that I seriously love and use all the time, so lets get stuck in!
Make Up
As far as base products go, there has been only one primer that I have been obsessive about and that is the Charlotte Tilbury Wonderglow, which gives a wonderful soft glow to the face without being to obvious, it is really great for lifting tired and dull skin to bring a bit of life back into it! Foundation however was a harder decision as I have loved three this year (including Nars Weightless Luminous Foundation and Charlotte Tilbury Magic Foundation), but the winner for me was the Burberry Sheer Luminous Fluid Foundation, which blends well, covers redness and minor imperfections whilst feeling weightless and leaving a beautiful luminousity to the skin!
The blusher that I have been wearing non-stop is Mac Gingerly which is a bronzy peach and warms up the complexion beautifully and compliments almost any makeup look! 2015 has been the year of the highlighter and like most people, I have been obsessed with the Becca x Jaclyn Hill Shimmering Skin Perfector in Champagne Pop. This is just the best highlight EVER and the golden champagne tones to it makes your cheekbones pop like nothing else!
For brows, the product that I have repurchased the most because of its incredible powers to transform sparse brows like mine is the Anastasia Beverly Hills Brow Wiz, which is so easy to use and it gives great precision. A fairly recent discovery for me, but one that I can’t get enough of is the Too Faced Natural Matte Eye Palette, an all-matte selection of neutral shades that are buttery soft and blend amazingly well. They also are extremely long lasting and your eye makeup still manages to look incredible at the end of the day. A full review of this will be coming soon! And finally for the eyes is a product that I have been wearing daily, since my black liquid liner has taken a back seat (for now!), is the Charlotte Tilbury Rock n Kohl Iconic Liquid Eye Pencil in Barbarella Brown. This is so smooth and glides on like a dream, is easy to smudge out and stays put until you take it off, amazing!
I have tried a whole host of lip products this year, but there a couple that have definitely stood out. Firstly the Laura Mercier Lip Parfait in Amaretto Swirl is just perfection. Creamy to apply, comfortable to wear and gives a nice opacity and shine to the lips. It is like a lip balm, lip stick and gloss all in one and the shade Amaretto Swirl is the most gorgeous pinky beige nude that goes with everything! A more recent discovery for lips is the Mac Patentpolish Lip Pencil, which I originally bought in the Black Berry Friday shade and have since purchased Revved Up as part of the Ellie Goulding Collection. These lip crayons are like nothing else I have tried before and combine the comfort of a lip balm with the sheen of a gloss and give good amount of color without being intense in any way. It is the perfect lazy girl’s lip product, one swipe and you are good to go!
Skincare
I have kept my skincare pretty much the same all year, as the products I have been using have worked really well for me and my skin is probably the best it has ever looked. There have been a couple of new additions which have now become staples and I cannot imagine ever not using these now. Vichy Aqualia Thermal is the most amazing serum if you have dehydrated skin, I use this every morning and it keeps my skin free from redness and irritation and leaves it plump and hydrated, minimizing fine lines and wrinkles! In the evening I use the Nude Progenius Omega Treatment Rescue Oil which is hostly the best face oil I have ever used. It smooths and calms my skin, leaving it looking refined and even. Since using this, I have hardly had any breakouts so could not be happier!
One product that I was incredibly late to the party to is the Aesop Parsley Seed Cleansing Mask, which I use as a treatment at least once a week. It manages to deep cleanse the skin ridding it of impurities without stripping it and leaving it balanced and calm whilst reducing breakouts. A definite must-try if you are in the market for a face mask!
Other
I am all about fuss-free products and so the Cocoa Brown Gentle Bronze* has been the perfect product to tan my body. It is a gradual tan that you apply like a body lotion as often as needed, and it leaves the skin with the most gorgeous natural looking tan that is free from streaks and is effortless. Cocoa Brown tanning products are honestly just the best!
I have found a few new fragrances this year, but I think my favorite is Diptyque Eau Duelle, a warm vanilla scent with spices and frankincense that is not too sweet or spicy and is the most gorgeously comforting scent, especially in the colder months.
And finally, a tool that has changed the way I have applied my makeup this year is the famous Beauty Blender. This little pink sponge is honestly incredible, it manages to make foundation and concealer look seamless and gives a beautiful airbrushed finish to the skin, you need this in your life!!
So that concludes my top discoveries of 2015, and I am so excited for all the new beauty discoveries I will make this year! What has been your top beauty discovery of 2015?
