Highlighters are big business right now, with everyone striving to achieve that perfect glow. The most exciting new release is the Glow Kit from Anastasia Beverly Hills who has recently released two palettes of beautiful glowing delight! The two palettes are suited at different skin tones, with ‘Gleam’ aimed at more cool toned skin and ‘That Glow’ aimed at warmer skin tones. I love how these differ and make it easy for the consumer to choose the palette that is more suited to them. As I have a warm skin tone, I opted for ‘That Glow’ which is as beautiful as it looks and offers four different highlighters that can be used in a number of ways.
The four shades can either be worn individually or layered together for a more intense luminosity to the skin and can be used on the face, body and also as eyeshadows, which was probably the selling point for me, these shades are going to look gorgeous on the eyes in the summer! I have been wearing Bubbly and Dripping In Gold the most as they are great everyday shades that suit my skin tone the best, they add a beautiful dimension to the face and that much needed glow. The shade Golden Bronze is quite dark, but is great over bronzer if you wanted to add a touch of shimmer to your look, however, I shall probably save this for the summer months when I have more of a tan. In contrast, the shade Sunburst is the lightest of the four and adds more of an intense (yellow toned) highlight for when you really want to be noticed!
I have become pretty obsessed with this palette, and have been going highlight crazy trying out all of the different shades. They are buttery soft in texture, almost creamy to the touch, so blend beautifully into the skin without being powdery at all. What I love so much about this palette is that each pan is removable and magnetic, so you are able to take an individual pan out an add it to a Z-Palette for travel if you wished. Unlike the Becca Shimmering Skin Perfectors, which are so soft and fragile and definitely not suited for travel (even though I love them!), these are more firm and compact, so think they are going to be much better to take on your travels.
With so many new highlighters on the market at the moment, it is difficult to know which one to chose, however I think these kits are a great buy. They are amazing value for money at $40, with each pan working out to $10 and for this you get a generous 7.4g/0.26oz of product, which is actually more product than you get in a Mac blush! They last all day and I love that they are multi-use products to create that glow wherever you should wish!
