February Favourites

There have only been a few standout products for me this month, not that I haven’t enjoyed more, but this selection are ones that I have been loving on a daily basis, so want to tell you how amazing I think they all are!

Lets start with the beauty that is the Urban Decay Gwen Stefani Blush Palette. This palette is just a joy to behold, lets face it, the packaging alone is worth the purchase, however you will be pleased to hear that whats inside is rather lovely too. Four blushes, one bronzer and one highlighter shade, this palette is the perfect companion as it houses all your cheek needs. The shades are all very wearable, with my favorite being OC, for its unique peachy pink duo chrome effect, and they are all super blendable and last all day. I have done a full review with swatches here

My second makeup favorite is the the Maybelline Shine Free Oil Control Loose Powder which I bought as I heard it was a dupe for my favorite Laura Mercier Loose Setting Powder. This is such a great powder, it is very finely milled, applies beautifully and sets my makeup really well. The only real difference I can see from the Laura Mercier one (apart from the price), is that this comes in three shades, light, medium and dark, whereas the LM one is translucent so can be used by all skintones. Because of this, I think it adds a little more coverage than LM, which I am not complaining about, but very pale skins may find the shade range a little dark. I have this in light which suits my winter NC25-30 skin tone well, but I am not sure how it will adapt for the palest of skins. This is one of my best drugstore finds so far this year!

I have also been obsessed with the Anastasia Beverly Hills Clear Brow Gel, a product that I’d never think I would be raving about as having very sparse brows, it was never really a product I thought I’d need. I have had my thing with tinted brow gels, in the hope to create a bit more texture and volume and I do really like how these work, I just struggle with the limited shade ranges that these products have. I got this as a sample with a Cult Beauty order and have been using it alongside my new favorite Anastasia Beverly Hills Brow Definer which I reviewed here recently. All of a sudden my brows look amazing all day long and it is down to these. The Brow Definer was a favorite last month, which does the essential filling and shaping, but this brow gel has the best brush which dispenses the product evenly through the brows and sets them in place without feeling sticky or crunchy and makes the product underneath last all day!

Onto skincare now, another product that came with my Cult Beauty GWP was the Oskia Renaissance 360 Day Cream which is only just being launched next week. I have had it for a few months now and have completely finished the bottle so you can tell how much I enjoyed it. I am planning on repurchasing this when it gets stocked on Cult Beauty (love free worldwide shipping!), so will do a more in-depth review then, but I love how hydrating this cream is, how easily it is absorbed, how beautiful it smells and how it really brightens the skin. I just love how it makes my skin feel in the mornings so would highly recommend this beautiful moisturizer.

My final love of this month is the Dr. Dennis Gross Ferulic & Retinol Eye Cream, as recommended by Caroline Hirons. Aside from its tightening and brightening properties, she said it was great for reducing dark circles, which was my number one concern, especially with a newborn baby. I love this eye cream, it has definitely lifted my dark circles and has had a noticeable effect on my fine lines too!
