Over the past fews months, I have got my dark circle routine (is that even a thing?) down to a tee. With a newborn baby, my dark circles have definitely been more prominent than ever, however the combination of a few products would get you thinking I had my full eight hours!
One product that I have fallen in love with recently is the Dr. Dennis Gross Ferulic & Retinol Eye Cream, which notable effects for me has been the reduction of my dark circles. I apply both morning and night and not only does it help with dark circles, it also tackles those pesky fine lines by keeping the under eye area plump and hydrated. It is not at all heavy either so perfect before makeup. I actually found an article on reviews.com where it was actually named the best eye cream out of 150, I am so glad I stumbled on this little gem!
After I have applied my foundation, I then begin to tackle the concealing. First of all I apply a tiny amount of the Make Up Forever Ultra HD Concealer and pat it in with my fingers. I have this concealer in shade R30, which is peachy pink toned concealer to correct any darkness, which it does extremely well (see full review). I then take a damp beauty blender to really work it into the skin, so that it doesn’t sit in any fine lines.
Next I take my all time favorite concealer the Nars Radiant Creamy Concealer in Custard and swipe a generous amount under both eyes and then blend once again with the Beauty Blender. Honestly, the Beauty Blender is your best friend when it comes to dark circles as it blends the concealer in so evenly and gives a flawless, airbrushed finish. I love the Nars concealer as it has a great amount of coverage but at the same time feels so lightweight and doesn’t settle in any fine lines.
Finally, I set my concealer with the Anastasia Beverly Hills Banana Powder (from the Contour Kit), by taking the Real Techniques Setting Brush, (which I love) and dusting a small amount under the eyes to keep the concealer locked in place all day long. The banana shade is quite brightening too, so it helps to give that wide-awake look that I am striving for.
I am so happy with this routine, the products work together really well and make me look bright-eyed and bushy tailed!
