Nudestix has fast become one of my favorite brands from this past year, their innovative products and formulations, make their easy-to-use pencils standout in my collection. Their latest launch, which are the Intense Matte Lip & Cheek Pencils, is one that I am sure will be extremely popular, as matte lips are very on-trend right now.
I love a matte lip, but absolutely can’t stand the dryness that comes with a lot of the matte lip products on the market, especially liquid lipsticks which I find so uncomfortable to wear. The Nudestix Intense Matte Lip & Cheek Pencils* have a soft, non-drying formula that actually feels so comfortable to wear, I am honestly blown away by how nice they feel on the lips. There are eight shades in the range, five nude and three bold, all of which are highly pigmented, so you get that intense opacity on the lips in one coat. They are smooth and easy to apply and also have a long-lasting formula that is waterproof and does not feather.
I have four of the eight shades; Kiss, a rosy pink nude; Purity, a deep mauvey nude (your typical Kylie Jenner shade!); Belle, a plummy pink nude and Royal, a vibrant classic red. Belle is my personal favorite of the bunch (check this photo of me wearing it on Instagram), as I find it easy to wear as an everyday shade, I apply in the morning and then can just pop it in my bag for touch-ups later in the day. I love how it doubles as a cheek color too, its like the perfect product for small bags!
Launching alongside these matte pencils, is also the Nudestix Blur Pencil* which is such an amazing product if you love a matte lip. It is a lip primer which you apply before lipstick and it reduces the look of dry lips and fine lines. It can actually also be used on pores and fine lines on the face to blur their appearance. The Blur Pencil contains hyaluronic acid spheres that swell up with water in the skin to fill in lines, whilst also supporting hydration. As someone with dehydrated skin, hyaluronic acid is an important ingredient in my skincare regime, so I love how this has been included in this product to ensure that is doesn’t dry out the lips/skin, making it a super comfortable product to wear and making the lip pencil last longer. I have used it on the annoying crease between my brows and it is actually very effective, so great for a quick fix if you have got an important occasion to go to!
A couple of weeks ago, I was lucky enough to meet Taylor and Ally (check my Instagram pic), the Co-Founders of Nudestix who were so lovely and I found them totally inspiring, how at such a young age (they are both still teenagers!) they have achieved such success with Nudestix. Taylor told me how both her and Ally have experienced bullying on social media and that their inspiration behind Nudestix was to empower women to help combat this negativity. They feel that everyone is beautiful in their own right and they should embrace their imperfections. Nudestix is all about enhancing peoples natural beauty, not masking it.
Nudestix have collaborated with Love is Louder, which is a project of The Jed Foundation (created with actress Brittany Snow), to spread love and support to anyone feeling mistreated, misunderstood or alone and increase awareness of mental illness, online, through the media and in communities. Nudestix are supporting the Love is Louder movement by donating $5 from the sale of two of their best-selling Lip & Cheek Pencils in the shade Love and Kiss, (which I mentioned above). You can read more about Love is Louder here.
You can find Nudestix Lip & Cheek Pencils ($24/£24) in Sephora and Space NK.
