I admit I am not the greatest haircare stylist there is, but I do like to look after my hair and make it look the best that I can, even if that is with the same two styles (down and topknot!). Over the summer there have been some standout haircare products that I have relied upon to look after my locks by protecting and conditioning it. Earlier in the year, I posted my haircare routine for fine hair, and aside from the shampoo and conditioner (which have run out), I still use all the products mentioned to style my hair, these are just some additions which I have been loving recently.
The downside of blonde hair in the sun, is that it can look quite brassy. I still use my L’Oreal Professional Silver Shampoo religiously every Sunday, but I have actually stepped this up to twice per week as I was noticing my hair wasn’t as vibrant as I liked. In conjunction with this, I have been using the Pureology Perfect 4 Platinum Cool Blonde Enhancing Treatment*, which in short, is a purple conditioner, aimed at neutralizing those brassy tones from the hair, making it a little cooler toned, whilst nourishing the ends. The two products work well together at keeping my hair the right shade of blonde!
On pool days and gym days, I have been obsessed with the Living Proof Perfect Hair Days Dry Shampoo, which is the best dry shampoo I have ever tried in the US (my favorite in the UK in Colab). It has such a great nozzle, which blasts your hair with products, without leaving any white residue what so ever. Whenever I use dry shampoo, it is literally to keep the grease at bay while I put it in a topknot, and this does a brilliant job at removing the grease and well as adding a little texture and volume too. The only downside is that it is $22 a can, which can add up if you use it regularly, but definitely a price worth paying for greaseless locks!
To protect my hair from the heat, I have been spritzing in the Pureology Color Fanatic* which is a multi-tasking product that primes my hair before styling and protects it from the heat, not only the hairdryer, but from UVA/B rays too. I spray a small amount before I blow dry it, comb it through and style. It leaves my fine hair feeling smooth, frizz-free and most importantly it doesn’t weight down. It is good to know that I am protecting my hair during these hot summer months to prevent damage to my already fragile, highlighted hair. It would also be a great addition to your beach bag to keep that hair protected whilst on vacation too.
The last product that I have been loving is the Ouai Hair Oil, which I have been using in addition to the Pureology spray to help protect against split ends. Finding a hair oil for fine hair is quite tricky as a lot of them can weigh down the hair and leave it looking greasy. The Ouai hair oil is great for any hair type and works like a dream even on my fine hair without turning it into an oil slick. I love how smooth and glossy it leaves my ends whilst eliminating any frizz and can we just talk about the heavenly smell? It has that tropical frangipani smell which is just beautiful, making this a welcomed addition to my haircare routine!
