So the Sephora VIB sale is upon us once more, where from November 4th to 7th VIB Rouge Members will get a glorious 20% off anything in store and online (code 20ROUGE). VIB members will also be eligible for a 20% discount from November 11th to 14th (code 20VIB). So as I have been preparing my shopping lists and putting things in and taking things out of my online shopping cart, I thought I would give you my recommendations on what to buy and stock up on during the sale!
It is a great time to stock up on skincare during the sale, especially on expensive brands. Drunk elephant is a brand that I have recently tried and am loving their T.L.C. Framboos Glycolic Night Serum as well as the Umbra SPF. Herbivore Botanicals also gets a big thumbs up from me, and can particularly recommend the Blue Tansy Mask and the Rose Hibiscus Coconut Water Face Mist. Talking of face mists, the Clinique Moisture Surge Face Mist is one of my favorites which I need to stock up again. It is nice to get a discount on eye creams as these can work out quite costly and I have been really enjoying the Estee Lauder Advanced Night Repair Eye Cream for its beautiful texture and ability to banish fine lines. Another eye product I swear by is the Shiseido Benefiance Pure Retinol Express Smoothing Eye Mask to revive the effects of a sleepless night and help you feel half human again, these are the best I’ve tried! Finally face masks are always something I enjoy and the Dr. Brandt Oxygen Facial Flash Recovery Mask is a great quick fix for those days you don’t get enough sleep and the Glamglow Thirstymud is the best hydrating mask there is, I am obsessed!
There are so many new launches in Sephora all the time if is often hard to know what to choose, I definitely have a hard time trying to narrow it down, so here are some of my makeup favorites that are definitely worth picking up. The Anastasia Brow Definer is my go-to brow pencil and one I always come back to, if you are blonde like me, the shade Taupe is just perfection! If you are a regular reader of my blog, you will know how much I love Nudestix, their new Magnetic Matte Eye Color in Fig is just to die for (see the looks I created with it here) and also their Intense Matte Lip & Cheek Pencil in Belle is another of my favorites from this year. A great foundation for oily/combination skins in the Urban Decay All Nighter Liquid Foundation (review) which is an oil-free, matte foundation that really does last all day long! My absolute favorite blush this year has got to the the Too Faced Love Flush Long-Lasting 16-Hour Blush in Baby Love, a soft dusty nude that literally goes with every look, it’s amazing! Bringing on the glow is the Anastasia Beverly Hills Glow Kit in That Glow (no longer available, similar linked), a palette of four dreamy highlighters that double as shadows to accentuate your best bits. A more recent obsession is the IT Cosmetics Bye Bye Under Eye Ilumination which is very full coverage yet doesn’t crease and gets rid of the darkest of circles.
Moving onto hair, there is one brand that has really stood out to me this year and that is Ouai, for its dreamy instagrammable packaging and formulas that work really well (apart from the dry shampoo, avoid that!). I have been loving the Ouai Volume Shampoo to give my fine hair lift, paired with the Ouai Repair Conditioner to really nourish my dry ends, this combination is the drew! For styling, my go-tow are the Ouai Hair Oil which I apply before every blow dry to keep the ends smooth and sleek and also, the Ouai Texturizing Hair Spray to add volume and texture. Another volumizing product that I have recently tried is the Bumble & Bumble Surf Foam Spray which is part mousse, part salt spray which gives that beachy, undone texture with a heat styled polish! And finally, the king of dry shampoos, the Living Proof Perfect Hair Day Dry Shampoo, which really gets to work on greasy hair, without leaving any white residue plus adding volume too, whats not to love?
BODY & FRAGRANCE
The Sephora VIB sale is the perfect time to buy body products and fragrance as they make such good Christmas presents. Two of my my loved fragrances are Viktor & Rolf Flowerbomb and new this year, the Tom Ford Soleil Blanc Eau De Parfum which is literally summer in a bottle. I know fragrance is a very personal thing, but these two are a couple of my all time faves! For body, the L’Occitane Amande Shower Oil is heavenly and I love that it come in these cute travel sizes to treat yourself whilst you are on vacation too. Another absolute standout product for me is the Laura Mercier Ambre Vanille Soufflle Body Crème which is the most delicious thing you have ever rubbed across your body and makes the most perfect present too!
HOLDAY GIFT SETS
Holiday gift sets are a fabulous way of trying out a new brand/collection of brands and are always great value for money. Broken down, they can also make great stocking fillers or tree presents. Some of my favorites that I have seen this year are the Sephora Favorites Glow For It, a box of different brands all aimed at giving you that JLo glow and also the Sephora Favorite Lashstash, a collection of two full size and eight sample size mascaras for only $45 ($36 with discount), such a bargain! For the skincare lover there is the Drunk Elephant AHA Kit and the First Aid Beauty AFB Beautique and for the man in your life there is the Chanel Bleu de Chanel Eau de Parfum Gift Set which smells amazing.
IN MY BASKET
Finally, i just thought I’d let you have a sneak peak into some things that I have in my online shopping cart. These really change by the day, I am always adding and taking things out trying to decide on what to purchase. I am trying not to go overboard though, just restocking on a few things that I am out off, plus a couple of new releases that I have my eye on.
I plan to restock on the Anastasia Beverly Hill Brow Definer, Clinique Moisture Surge Face Spray and Ouai Repair Conditioner, which are staples for me. I have wanted to try the SK-II Facial Treatment Mask for so long, so am going to get this, possibly along with the RMS Beauty Oil, which has so many great reviews. There are a couple of Nars releases that I am eyeing up, the Velvet Lip Glide in Stripped and the Nars Sarah Moon Matte Lipstick in Indecsent Proposal, although I shall probably go for the latter as it it limited edition. I also really want to try the Marc Jacobs Air Blush in Flesh & Fantasy, but I may ask for this for Christmas so who knows. This list will probably change as I may buy some Christmas presses too, but that is what I have been coveting recently!
Remember the sale starts on Friday 4th November for VIB Rouge members, use the code 20ROUGE for your discount!
