The 5 Lip Balms You Need!

The 5 Lip Balms You Need

Lip Balms are my thing, I could honestly live without lipstick as long as I had a decent lip balm, or five! Even though I do own and wear a lot of lipsticks, day-to-day when I am at home or running around with the kids doing errands, I am more than happy with just a lip balm. I have been through my fair share of lip balms and of course have my favorites, but I am going to share with you what is so great about these five lip balms and why I need them all in my beauty arsenal!

Nuxe Reve De Miel and By Terry Baume de Rose

The By Terry Baume De Rose is one that I avoided for so long because of the hefty price tag, I saw so many people singing its praises but couldn’t really justify the price tag. A Cult Beauty goodie bag promotion swayed me though and I am so happy that I eventually caved. It has a delicate rose scent that tastes delicious and is a beautiful soft balm that really nourishes and hydrates the lip, making it the perfect morning lip prep. It has a light pink tint to it that is barely noticeable but at the same time adds a slight hint of something and also contains SPF 15 to protect your lips. I usually apply this one every morning either before lipstick or on its own, and it especially looks great just with the Charlotte Tilbury Lip Cheat in Pillowtalk for a natural but defined lip.

Nuxe Reve de Miel is probably my all-time favorite lip balm, if I could only choose one, this would be it! It has a thick constancy, which melts onto the lips giving immediate relief to dry or chapped lips which is just so comforting. I apply this every night before I go to bed without fail and come the morning, my lips feel so soft and nourished, you can actually still feel the product on your lips after a nights sleep, so it really does moisturize all night long. It also has a matte finish to it so when wearing it, your lips don’t look glossy in any way, so I think a lot of men would like this product too.

Glossier Balm Dotcom, Burts Bees Honey Lip Balm and Dior Addict Lip Glow

The previous products are ones that I generally use at home as they come in glass pots, so not too convenient on-the-go, so thats when the next few choices come into play.

My favorite lip balm stick has got the be the Burt’s Bees Honey Lip Balm with Vitamin E, which is made from beeswax which I find deeply hydrating on dry lips. This also has a matte finish and tastes absolutely divine, there are quite a few flavors available, but I always go back to the honey one, I just love it. I have a supply of these everywhere, on my desk, in the car, in my bag and literally every jacket pocket, it really is the best and at just over $3, you cannot go wrong. It is 100% natural too!

My most recent obsession is the Dior Addict Lip Glow, which has the prettiest pink packaging and is now a welcomed addition to my handbag. This luxe balm reacts with the chemistry of your lips creating a special pink glow that is unique to you. It is a very hydrating balm and I love to keep it with me at all times so I can reapply on-the-go so that when I top up my lip balm, I am also getting a subtle tint on the lips too.

Finally, is something that is more than just a lip balm, the Glossier Balm Dotcom not only soothes dry lips, it can help to moisturize cuticles, knees, elbows, anywhere that needs a bit of TLC. Although it does contain petrolatum, which I often find to be a bit ineffective and slippy, this is more of a firm balm and definitely very moisturizing, which maybe from the addition of beeswax. It is a great one to take on the plane when you travel as it is a bit of an all-rounder and you never know when you may need to use it!

Have you tried any of these? What is your favorite lip balm?
