I haven’t really bought much in the drugstore for a while now, its normally just diapers, wipes and cleaning products! However, there were a few things that I have been wanting to try, so after perusing the aisles at my local CVS, this is what I came home with.
I use a glycolic exfoliator most evenings after cleansing as I find it the most effective form of exfoliation. I am a die hard Pixi Glow Tonic fan, but I saw this travel size of the Nip & Fab Glycolic Fix Daily Cleansing Pads, which I though would be great for my upcoming vacation as these pre-soaked pads are fuss free and there are just enough for a week away. I tried one out and they seem to be effective, although it is hard to tell from one use, but I am looking forward to seeing how these compare.
One of my biggest beauty influences is Alessandra Steinherr, who is the Glamour UK Beauty Director. She has been in the business a long time and always has the best advice and recommendations. She says she always picks up a bottle of the Olay Gentle Clean Foaming Cleanser when she is in the States as it is one of the best from the drugstore. Even though it says ‘foaming’ in the description, it does not really foam up at, but creates a milky lather that is very gentle on the skin. It is oil-free and fragrance-free and so far I’ve really been enjoying this as my morning cleanse, I love the addition of the pump too!
EOS Lip Balm is such a cult product, I feel like everyone at some point in their life has tried one. When I lived in the UK, it was one of those must-buy beauty products that you had to pick up when visiting the States. I haven’t had one in such a long time, but when I saw this Coconut Milk scent one in the cutest pink stripy packaging, I just had to pick one up! As you may know from my recent post, I have an obsession with lip balms, so even though I have more than enough, this is a welcomed addition that didn’t break the bank! I loved the chubby applicator of this as it feels so comforting when applying it to your lips and the light coconut scent tastes great too. This is a new favorite in my handbag! Have you tried EOS?
I have had my eye on the Essie Gel Couture Nail Polishes for a while now and after getting so fed up with chipping nail polish, I thought I would bite the bullet and pick up the shade Rock The Runway plus the Gel Couture Top Coat, as I have heard great reports of it lasting for days! I have to say the application of this polish is second to none, it was probably the easiest polish I have ever applied to my nails with its wide brush and smooth formula and it took no time at all. I have only worn it the once as directed without base coat and it definitely lasted better than other polishes but I still saw chips after about four days which is pretty good on my nails but definitely not the week-long I was looking for. I am going to try it with a base coat as my nails aren’t in great shape at the moment as see how it goes, but first impressions are great!
