Spring has most definitely now sprung, especially in the beauty world, where there have been so many amazing releases recently. I have been particularly wowed by all the new premium lip products that have have launched over the past couple of months, so thought I’d bring you the lowdown on the ones you should be stocking up on this season!
Dior Addict Lacquer Stick in Rolling
This new offering from Dior is right up my street, with its glossy, hydrating, glide-on formula that is actually more pigmented than you would think with such a lightweight lipstick. Granted, its not the most long lasting product but definitely has a fresh Spring/Summer vibe to it, especially in the shade Rolling, a gorgeous peachy nude that literally goes with everything. I’m not sure if this shade is a Sephora exclusive, but I couldn’t find it in other retailers, so am presuming so. I like its effortless application and love, love, love its stylish black (with a hint of purple) packaging!
Chanel Rouge Coco Gloss in Nectar
I am really not much of a gloss girl these days if truth be told, but I was reading about its non-sticky, smooth and long-lasting formula and really wanted to give it a try. I was all set to get one of the nude shades (‘cos thats my default!), but something drew me to the orangey red tones of the shade Nectar. I am so glad I bought this shade as I wore it nearly every day whilst on vacation last month and I can see me wearing it throughout summer as its coral undertones lend itself so well to sunny days and adds a touch of vibrancy to your lips without being too intense. It has a curved doe foot applicator which really hugs the lips on application and the formula is really something. It is soft, smooth and very comfortable to wear and the greatest part for me is that it really stays put on the lips and doesn’t go stringy or patchy at all! It has definitely got me back on the lipgloss bandwagon!
YSL Tint-In-Balm in Flirt Me Coral
The newest launch from YSL has surely got to be the winner for cutest design ever, those lips just had me! This lipstick combines the nourishing qualities of a balm together with a sheer wash of luminous color that leaves the lips with the prettiest sheen. For those that like intense lip colors, this won’t be for you, but if you are like me and love lip balms, hydrating formulas and easy-to-apply products then you need this in your makeup bag. The lip-shaped core runs all the way through which I am so pleased about as it excites me every time I take the lid off it to see this pretty design. The shade Flirt Me Coral is a very pretty peachy pink, that although is sheer does add a touch of color that is perfect for everyday!
Burberry Lip Colour Contour in Medium
The new Burberry Lip Colour Contour is a far cry from the glossy, balmy products I have just been discussing. It is a sort of hybrid between a lipliner and lipstick in so far that its slender rounded bullet lines the lips with precision, but it also has the smoothness of a lipstick so that it in no way looks harsh. It softly contours and creates the illusion of fuller lips and I think it is a great solution if you don’t like lipliner but want to add definition to your lips. The shade medium is cool-toned mauvey nude color, which you can of course wear it all over the lips, but I like to ‘contour’ with this, and add a lighter nude in the centre of my lips to create the illusion of a fuller lip. It is a fairly unique product and one that I am really enjoying using especially as I tend to be a bit lazy with lipliners.
