The Must-Have Summer Fragrances

Summe Scents, Aerin Garden Rose, Tom Ford, Soleil Blanc, Tom Ford Sole Di Positano, Jo Malone Nectarine Blossom & Honey

For me, fragrance is very seasonal. There are certain scents that I will only wear in the Autumn/Winter when the weather is colder and I want to wear something comforting, so will chose a fragrance that has warmer notes such as vanilla and perhaps some spices. Then there are the Summer scents, which I think are some of my most fragrances ever, as I wear them on vacation and during the hotter, summer months. Scents evoke memories and when I spritz a scent that I wore on vacation, it reminds me of fun, carefree times away in the sunshine. Now we are in the midst of Summer, I thought I would share with you my favorite scents of the season including some fairly new releases.

Tom Ford Sole Di Positano and Soleil BlancTom Ford Soleil Blanc is probably my all-time favorite scent, it is just amazing. If the beautiful white and gold bottle doesn’t do it for you, then what’s inside will undoubtedly impress, it is literally summer in a bottle! Think warm summer nights, drinking rose as the sun goes down and you are practically there! With notes of jasmine, bergamot, ylang ylang, amber and coconut milk to name but a few, this stunning fragrance will have you dreaming of summer all year long. I love it so much, I have added the body oil and body spray to layer with it, totally obsessed!

This years’ newest release from Tom Ford is Sole Di Positano which is another amazing summer scent from the brand, but in a totally different vain to Soleil Blanc. Sole Di Positano evokes the chilled out vibe of the sunny Italian city, by combining citrus notes including bergamot, mandarin and lemon together with floral notes of orange blossom, jasmine, neroli and shiso leaf. This fragrance is definitely much fresher than Solieil Blanc, but it also has a depth to it that makes it one of the sexiest summer scents around. The gorgeous turquoise bottle is seriously dreamy too!

Aerin Garden Rose

A fragrance that has recently captured my heart is the Aerin Garden Rose Eau De Cologne*. This fragrance is so nostalgic for me as the smell of it takes me right back to my home in England. My dad is a keen gardener and has always had a rose garden, so growing up, he would always pick me fresh roses from the garden and put them in a vase in my bedroom (what a sweetheart!), and this fragrance is so reminiscent of those freshly cut roses. It is actually inspired by the English countryside, with fresh floral notes of White Bulgarian Rose, Rose Bulgare and Rose Centifolia, combined with the warmer notes of Sandalwood, Amber and Musk, this fragrance is the perfect pick me up. It comes in this beautiful large bottle, so I often catch myself spritzing it around the home too! For travel though, it also comes as a rollerball and there is also a complimenting rose lip conditioner which has not left my handbag all summer, it is super hydrating and has a slight pink tint to it, gorgeous!

Jo Malone Nectarine Blossom & HoneyLast, but by no means least is a long-time favorite of mine, the Jo Malone Nectarine & Honey Blossom Cologne, which I love year-round, but it definitely has more of a summery vibe to it. I have done a full review of it here, but I couldn’t write this post without mentioning it, as I it has been a favorite of mine for the past six years. It is inspired by London’s Covent Garden early morning market and combines the juicy notes of netarine, peach and cassis, with delicate spring flowers and acacia honey. It is such an uplifting fragrance and one that has a lot of great memories attached to it. I know I will be wearing this for years to come.
