‘A Little Pop of Coral’ makes me smile, hence the reason for my blog name. On a grizzly, grey March afternoon, I applied my new Barry M Gelly Hi Shine in Papaya, and it instantly cheered me up…I couldn’t stop looking at my newly painted nails. The peachy pink tone of this hi shine paint makes me dream of warmer climates and with spring approaching, soon got me digging out all of my coral colours.
So here is my pick of all things coral, which will come as no surprise are some of my favourite make-up items.
First up is nails. In addition to the incredible Barry M Papaya (full review here), is a purchase from last summer, Essie’s Tart Deco which is pretty much the same colour as Barry M one, perhaps just a touch brighter and reminds me of Ibiza as it was the only colour I wore whilst there (someone take me back now!). Purchased from the diffusion line in Boots, the wide brush allows easy application and with 2 coats you’re ready to go! Lastly, a more red toned coral is Revlon One Perfect Coral which looks amazing with a tan and so pretty on the toes. Love it!
Moving onto lips, there are far too many to choose but I’ve narrowed it down. Clarins Instant Light Natural Lip Perfector 02 Apricot shimmer is a very sheer, very moisturising lip gloss which tastes amazing and last on the lips without any stickiness. Great for everyday, get at Escentual.com for the best price online. Revlon Lip Butter in Tutti Frutti is a bright but sheer, hydrating lipstick which is verging more towards being orange which looks amazing in the sunshine. Sticking with Revlon, their ColourBurst Lip Gloss in Papaya, is going to be a winner for this spring. These lip glosses have a great long lasting formula, the only problem being that this colour is now discontinued in Boots but you can pick it up cheaply on ebay. The final lip product is Barry M Lip Gloss 11, which is a permanent feature in my hand bag. Its nice and cheap, smells lovely and quite light and therefore easy to apply without a mirror!
For the cheeks, its the ultimate coral blusher which will take you through from spring to summer, Benefit Coralista. This gorgeous, sheer coral blush with a slight gold shimmer is easy to apply and suits all skin tones. And finally is Bobbi Brown Pot Rouge in Cabo Coral, a cream blush which can be doubled up as a lip tint, so perfect for throwing in you bag when you are on the go.
