Review: Chanel Rouge Coco Shine in Evasion

This lipstick was one that was on the wish list for ages, ever since I saw Anna rave about it last year. I forgot about it for a while, then I saw Tanya Burr use it in a couple of make-up tutorials, one of which was on the gorgeous Millie Mackintosh from Made In Chelsea, which reignited my need for this beautiful lipstick. Being Chanel it doesn’t come cheap, which is why I put off buying it for so long, however I had saved up enough points on my Boots Advantage Card, so it was justifiably free!

The Chanel Rouge Coco Shine is a sheer, hydrating lipstick which glides on like a dream and leaves a subtle sheen of peachy pink with a golden glimmer (not sparkly at all!). It’s is the most beautiful colour especially if you are like me, a bit scared of a bright lip and prefer the more natural hues of a nude lip. It is not that pigmented either, which is the beauty of this lip shine as it leaves the lips looking glossy and hydrated. It gives the shine of a lipgloss but has the formulation of a lipstick, so you get the best of both worlds! The packaging is typically Chanel, black and gold with the Chanel logo emblazoned on the lid, very chic!

For me it is the perfect any place, anywhere colour that I can wear easily to work, but looks equally as gorgeous with a smokey eye for a night out. My only negative is that it doesn’t really last too long on the lips, but I’m quite happy to reapply! I cant wait to try some more shades in the range, better get saving my points again!
